I grabbed everything from my closet, and my dresser drawers before packing it neatly into my suitcases. Pulling tacks out my childhood pictures, I carefully pulled them off my wall, placing them into my purse.
I grabbed a empty box, making my way to the bathroom that I had shared with my mother and began packing my bathroom materials. I never really thought I'd be doing this, yes, everybody moved from time to time, but since I was born, this would be my first time moving, ever.
Long story, when I was 13, my father Roy died of cancer, he was such a good man, he was faithful to my mother, he worked, he was handsome, you know, the kind of man any women dreamed of.
After he died, my mother Diane fell into a depression state, some nights she would drink until she couldn't remember who I was, but she never, ever, laid hands on me, or said anything rude or disrespectful to me when she was drunk.
One night, my mother was drunk of course, so I went to bed early, trying to avoid her, and I had a dream about my father, he told me to be there for my mother, and to give it time, that she would get over her state and everything would be fine.
What he told me was 100 percent true, my mother did indeed get over her state, and she apologized to me for her being that way, and after that, she had never drunk anything heavy again.
When I turned 14, my mother seemed lonely, so I told her that I was fine with the idea of her going out on dates and meeting other people, and that's what she did.
About 3 months after she started going out alot, she met this man, his name was Jovian, him and my mother were the same age and had the same birthday so they kind of bonded.
Jovian had been in the military for 3 years so he was a strong man, old looking, but he was nice. He started coming to our house alot, then he started staying nights, and then, he moved in.
After 6 months of dating, Jovian and my mother got married, and til this day, 2 years later, I regret ever telling my mother that she could date again.
Jovian and I was constantly arguing, he would try to control me, always tell me to do something that was already done and we would yell at each other, all the time, never ending arguments, so I just stayed in my room.
My mother loved that man, I couldn't say the same for myself, but since she was happy, I was happy. That is until Jovian had the brightest to move to California, and my mother took the offer.
Now, I was stuck moving to California, because technically, I wasn't grown yet. My mother came up with the greatest excuse to back up Jovian's idea, so of course I went along with everything, just like I usually did.
Since Jovian had been in the military, everything was basically paid for by the military so he had our house in California built from scratch. I think my mother liked the idea only because she got to decorate the whole house how she wanted.
Jovian even let me decorate my room so I wasn't mad, he was a nice person when he wasn't trying to control me. I guess everything wouldn't be that bad, the only thing I was worried about was the school.
I finished things up in the bathroom, going back to my room, I guess now since I got everything done there's nothing left to do but wait.
