A song no one would expect you to love: Forever And Always by Parachute
I want you forever, forever and always
Through the good and the bad and the ugly
We'll grow old together, and always remember
Whether happy or sad or whatever
We'll still love each other, forever and always
Forever and always, forever and alwaysShe finishes the vows but the beeps are getting too slow
His voice is almost too low
As he says, I love you forever, forever and always
Please just remember even if I'm not there
I'll always love you, forever and alwaysCarrie looks at the obituary in the local newspaper for the umpteenth time that day. The death of her recently departed husband still haunting her as the months slowly pass by.
Frank Davis Coben, 22, of Muddy Creek, TN, passed away Thursday, November 27th after receiving fatal gunshot wounds.
"Why did you have to do it Frank? Why didn't you just let that murderer get away? Why did you have to go?" Carrie screams into the warm April night. The events leading to her late husband's death replaying on an endless loop in her mind.
The blood, the seemingly endless pools of blood on that hospital gurney late that November night. The pain etched upon his face, the numerous tubes and wires everywhere, the genuine happy smile he had tried to plaster on his face when he saw her. She had run to her husband's side, trying to ease his pain as well as her own worry. Worry for him and for herself if he doesn't make it out of this. There was just too much blood. She knew from the moment she saw him that it would be his last night on Earth.
He was born January 17th 1992 to James and Catherine Coben. Frank graduated from Muddy Creek High School and went on to join the Muddy Creek Police Department.
November 27th, Carrie received a phone call from the Muddy Creek police department saying her husband had been critically injured on duty and was on his way to the hospital. She had rushed out the door, bringing along only her purse and jacket, and drove quickly to the hospital. She arrived just as her husband got there. The doctor, seeing the fatal wounds, knew he could do nothing to save the young officer's life. He gave Frank medicine to dull the pain, knowing nothing more could be done and the young officer would pass soon. He watched the young couple embrace for only a minute before turning his attention to the other sickly patients.
He was married to Carrie Coben on October 18th . Frank is survived by his sister Ann Coben, his brothers Rick and Stephen Coben, his parents James and Catherine Coben, and his loving wife Carrie.
"Frank!" "Carrie!" The young couple cry over and over again, embracing and sobbing, knowing Frank could go at any moment.
"Carrie, please remember, even though I may be gone, I love you. I have loved you, I do love you, and I will love you forever and always." Frank whispers as the heart monitor beeps slower and slower ending with one final extended beep and a flat line on the screen.
"Frank! Frank!" The young newly widowed Carrie yells at her husband's lifeless body. "You can't go. We were going to grow old together. Have a family. You can't go!" She watches as the blood soaked sheet is pulled up and over his face, signifying he's gone for good. A nurse helps Carrie to a chair where she sits and weeps over her loss.
His bravery, courage, and helpful spirit will be celebrated at...
Frank took his job seriously, always had, that's what made him so good at his job. Carrie had always worried one day he would go to work and never come back home to her. She tried her best to support her husband in everything he did, even if it was life threatening. She constantly listened to the police scanner Frank had gotten her a month before when they were only betrothed. She worried over the countless number of drug busts he was at, the robberies, anything and everything he did as a police officer worried her. The one day she didn't listen to the scanner was the day Frank passed on. Only after he died did she find out what had happened.
Frank went on another routine drug bust and it turned for the worst. Not only was his life in danger, but also the life of an innocent child. He hadn't known about the child until he had gotten there. He and his partner had been sent to arrest a group of three known drug suppliers at their home. When they entered the house they found two of the reported three drug suppliers shot dead on the floor. The other was standing with a gun pointed at the head of a child, who struggled to break loose of the man's iron grip. Frank had tried-like he was trained to do-to get the focus of the suspect from the child and onto himself. It had worked, but when Frank's partner had tried to get the child to safety, everything went downhill. The suspect opened fire on Frank's partner and the child, killing them with the first fatal shot. Frank had tried to wrestle the gun from the murderer only to be shot himself. The protective vest he wore wasn't able to protect him from the gunshots. He had taken the murderer down and cuffed him before relaxing and realizing the damage he had taken. By that point, he knew it wouldn't be long before he passed. He had called for backup and medical help. They got there quickly and got him to the hospital in record time, but it wasn't quick enough. For the wounds were too deep, there was too much blood lost. Frank Davis Coben wouldn't live past that night.
Carrie remembers this day like it was yesterday, even though five months have already passed. This is the day she finally realized what it was like to lose someone you truly love and who truly loves you back. Carrie, like all the people Frank touched, will never forget him. She has loved him, still loves him, and will continue to love him forever and always.
