Clementine leaned back against the hood of her car. Staring up at the stars like she was watching a movie. Making her own story for where they'd come from and where they were going. Some brighter and closer than others against the pitch black sky and cool air hitting her curly hair gently. Silent and peaceful as she'd found the perfect spot for her nightly times she spent awake for hours upon the surface of her car. Catching the stars in her eyes over and over as she'd practically memorized them, figuratively and literally.
Her attention was drawn to them like a picture. Glancing to each and every one of them and their stories like she was looking for her own, or in hopes that she'd find that, anyway. Some of them would make shapes far off from the constellations she could never remember.
She might not be the biggest and brightest star up in the galaxy, but she was one of them at the very least. Maybe off on its own and sailing through its own story...whatever that would be to her, even if she didn't know now...she hoped she would soon.
She didn't know what she was doing or why. And yet, here she was lying on the hood of her car in what was practically the middle of nowhere. Simply listening to some music through her cheap earbuds over and over again as if she was searching through the maze of tunes to find some different meaning to it. Something that would strike through her chords of life and say something.
But she couldn't find it. Not in the stars and not in her music as she felt like she was chasing her own trail, something she absolutely knew would lead to nowhere. The sounds and the stars almost lining up together to show her some sort of path, some sort of meaning she'd lost so many times before. But it kept falling out of her grasp as the brunette reached out as though she could just grab it, As though she was so close-
"Hey." Someone called from nearby. She hadn't even heard it first before she turned to the stranger. Glancing over to the blonde girl who stood a bit away from her, The ghost of a smile on her face as Clementine didn't even know how long she'd been there at all.
"So..." The blonde started making her way over to the car and leaned against the hood. "...You come here often?"
Clem rolled her eyes at the question. "Oh, your one to talk Vi. You're practically here every single night, you know when I'm here."
Violet smirked letting out an airy chuckle and hopped up on the hood of the car next to Clementine with ease. Their arms brushing against each other for a split second and Clem could feel chills run up her spine like every other time there was an accidental touch between the two. Like hitting a nerve that lights you up like dynamite. But it was fine, they were just friends, it didn't mean anything, right?
"Right again, orange. So what'd you find this time?" The blonde turned her gaze up to the seemingly endless sea of stars that lay motionless against the deep darkness of the sky. Her mind automatically putting different images into place, that they'd sought out before, like the fish, the knife, and the bird. Each held a different meaning that was as significant as the place they held in the sky. Like a kept secret that only the two of them knew about, after the many nights they spent out here with each other.
Clementine found herself at a loss for words, for the simple sound of the blonde's voice was enough to make her forget to concentrate as her eyes remained fixed on the girl next to her. Maybe what she was searching for wasn't written in the stars or in the lyrics of her music. Or...maybe they were and something was just missing that could bring them all together and finally have her world make sense of its self.
With the lack of a response, Violet turned her attention back to the brunette. Clem realizing that she'd been staring for far too long as she was caught in the act, getting her to blush. She found herself stumbling over her words to cover up her gawking. "Right...um...yeah, Sorry. I...found uh..."
