{Leo's POV}
How often do you look into someone's eyes? Not glance, not see, not sneak a peak but actually look. Did you know looking into someone's eyes could tell you a story. Without one word, you could see someone's pain, someone's sorrow, someone's flame begging to be touched and brought to life. But your job is to actually look and not just see.
I've seen Amy before, I've actually had the nerve to talk to her. I mean I could have done better than asking for a pen. But I had to start a conversation somehow. But I'll never forget the first time i laid my eyes on her.
She was sitting under a tree during our fall break when everyone chose to go home and spend their vacation with their families and old friends. She stood. I decided not to go home during the break to work on some of my paintings and photos.
But I saw her lost in thought writing under a tree while her headphones were on playing whatever song of her choice. She looked broken. Her eyes were glazed with tears as a couple of them fell. Whatever it was that was bothering her she fought not to let it break her.
She doesn't know, but I took a picture of her. Not in a stalker kind of way I swear. So don't be so quick to judge. I took the picture of her sitting under the tree with a notebook in hand as she looked into the sky. She closed her eyes as if the wind whispered hope to her before opening her eyes again just to stare at the clouds.
I've seen her, here and there since that day. But one day I saw her again. It was a random moment as I walked into a small coffee shop and spotted her with her friend just smiling and joking sitting in the corner drinking her latte.
And that smile was a sight to see. It wasn't fake. She had tears in her eyes from previously laughing too hard, but she looked truly happy. Like the mask she had on failed in that moment.So maybe asking for a pen wasn't my best idea to start a conversation, but I had to start somewhere. Asking for that pen started a little chain reaction, Mikes been getting close with Lexi which caused us to go over and watch the game with her and Amy.The only issue now is since hanging out with them and watching the game, she avoided me.
Text messages ignored. Phone calls ignored. I haven't even seen her around campus or the library. Maybe I scared her with what I said. But something is telling me there's more to her story. Now the question is, will she want to share it with me.
"Someone's clearly thinking of Amy" Mike said walking into my art studio. "Still haven't seen or spoken to her?" He asked plopping himself down on the couch along the wall.
"Nope" I said popping the p. "I don't know maybe I'm just not her type." I shrugged my shoulders while grabbing the pink can of spray paint, before spraying it on the canvas.
"Well, you know me and Lexi are getting pretty close. Maybe you can talk to her and see what's up with Amy."
I looked over my shoulder debating if I should. But ended up shaking my head "It's cool. I don't wanna scare the girl. If she wants to talk the phone goes both ways." I said while continuing to spray pink on the canvas.
"Suit yourself." Mike shrugged while getting off the couch. " I guess i'll be on my way then, I have a date with Lexi, see you at the apartment later." He said coming up to me to do our signature handshake.
"Well, I'll most likely be here all day, so if needed you know where to find me." I told him before he walked out the door.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I ended up staying in the studio until eleven at night. Not that I'm complaining. I could have stood longer to be honest. I could get completely lost in my art. And this piece that I'm working on has to be just right.
