He was like a Gatsby
Tall, silver, and rich
Cooler than a lake frozen in timeShe was like a Daisy
Womanly, petite, and blonde
Warmer than a green light and bridging on goldHe walked with her around the world
They visited the cities, the town, and the villages
Some of their hosts were touched and some were happyBut to others
They were hated
Why was it when he hugged her one day,
after years of walking and talking,
the corners of her eyes did not lift,
and her body sagged with age
And her smile did not make her body rise as the sunLike he had killed her
Simply because he was Time, and she was Love,
And one always outlived the other
