Michael hated this holiday with a burning passion because it wasn't related to anything that had to do with Halloween, people dying, scary items, or any of the sort. And especially something else he came to despise : love.

Couples flaunting their relationships to the world, teenagers resorting to extreme lengths to express their love, boxes of chocolates and roses, mushy feelings and lovesick confessions, etc... It was sickening to him, he couldn't stand it. He had an itch just to do whatever it takes to ruin the lovey-dovey holiday out of spite.

He grimaced as he watched you cutting up pieces of paper into little hearts. You hummed to the tune of "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Haley Reinhart playing on your phone. Your eyes focused on the decorations you were making, you eventually opened your mouth and began to sing along with the woman on the small device.

Your hips started swaying along slowly, and you couldn't help but feel mushy and in a romantic and charming mood. You only wished that once in a while he would be more than willing to help you...

You appreciated him being in your presence, really. It warmed your heart to know that he tolerated you enough to be comfortable in your presence. Your face, however, overturned to a saddening smile. If only Michael was a little more intimate with you and shower you with love and affection, although knowing him, that was incredibly unrealistic.

Speaking of which, you didn't notice him switch spots and stand right over you. The entire time he watched your face change into a sulky feeling masked by desperate happiness. He felt his chest swell up and suddenly he went stiff as a board. He furrowed his eyebrows, watching your unhappy expression.

His hands had a mind of their own; one strong arm wrapping around your tiny waist and the other hand raised above and awkwardly patted your head. Your face flushed and you slightly jumped, shocked to have this kind of reaction from Michael, it was completely rare for him to initiate any type of interaction with you. But soon you had the biggest grin on your face, appreciating the affection nonetheless. Especially since you didn't have to somewhat force it this time.

You smiled wide and continued to sing out loud, cutting your decorations and putting small candies and flowers in various cups. You definitely didn't see it, but underneath that sheet of latex hides the corners of his mouth tugging upwards into a small grin.
