We are resting for a couple hours at our camp, bored with nothing to do. I just practice with my knives some techniques. Marvel is laying on the ground, twirling his spear. Cato is standing and doing nothing. Noah is still fiddling with the box

"Hey, guys, look! A fire! Guys, look, c'mon!" Marvel shouts.

Me and Cato look up. We all gather together and grab our weapons.

"How 'bout 3?" I ask. "Is he coming?"

"Yeah, were bringing him. There's no point leaving him here."

"I really think we should just let him stay. There's no problem in extra protection," I point out.

"We're bringing him. There's nothing thats going to possibly wreck our supplies," Cato demands.

"I don't care what can wreck our supplies. If he sees who tries to do it, he can report it to us, then we can get revenge on them!" I say angrily. Cato isn't even listening to me.

"He's coming. We need him in the woods, and his job's done here anyway. No one can touch those supplies," He replies back snapishly.

"What about Lover Boy?" Marvel says.

"I keep telling you, forget about him. I know where I cut him. It's a miracle he hasn't bled to death yet. At any rate, he's in no shape to raid us," says Cato. "Come on," he says. He shoves a spear into Noah's hands and pushes him ahead of us. "When we find her, I kill her in my own way, and no one interferes."

We run away towards to fire. When we get there, no tributes are in sight. I suggest they moved on. Their aren't any tracings of anyone being here, no supplies left.

That's when we see smoke rising from somewhere else. "Lets go!" Shouts Cato. I tell him it's a lure, but of course he just tells me it's a tribute. I follow him anyways.

Once we get there, there still isn't anybody there. "Clove," Cato says. "Run back to the first fire and see if anyone is there. We can catch them if they switch their location." I roll my eyes but I still go back. And of course, no other tributes.

Cato and Marvel soon coming running back over to me and I don't respond because they can see clearly no tributes had made a trace. Right when we start inspecting the fires, more smoke rises into the air. But it's too much smoke to be just a fire. And it coming from our supplies.

We sprint back, me getting there first to see the remainders of our supplies. I pick at the ruined supplies. Marvel does this too. Cato runs up to Noah outraged and yells at him. Noah claims the careers were approaching to quickly so the mines set off.

I walk around, opening any containers that stayed. Cato is fuming and kicks everything open and stomps on the mushed apples and food. Right away, Cato catches Noah in a headlock. Noah struggles for a few seconds, but not very long. Cato snaps his head in one twist on his hand.

I shrug. I blame Noah as much as Cato does. He should've put the mines so that when one blew up, it didn't activate the others. The cannon sounds and I know he's dead. Cato is still yelling, even after he killed Noah.

"Calm down Cato, I'm sure we can find some other source of food... Anyways, whoever set off the explosian is dead. We'll see it in the sky. Even though we didn't hear the cannon, it was probably just lost in the explosian," I say, but I'm not even sure we can last a day without our supplies. We careers are not trained for hunting.

"Yeah," says Marvel, though also unsure. "Hunting's not a big deal, it's just like killing... No problems..." Me and Marvel share a worried glance that we don't share with Cato, who is still kicing cans open.

We pick around the supplies once more, looking for any remainders, but there is nothing. I turn around too see that Marvel has gone and Cato is sitting under the tent, sharpening his sword. He looks up. "For whoever did this," He says evily. I grin back.

"Wonder where Marvel went," I say outloud. Cato shrugs. That's when we hear a cannon. And another.
