Lily hated being the centre of attention, especially at Hogwarts, that is why she always let Scorpius take credit for their pranks. But Lily was used to the attention, she was the Potter girl who acted like a boy, played qudditch like a pro, broke one hundred thousand rules everyday and hang out with two of the hottest guys in school, one of them being her brother. However, non of all the attention had ever prepared her for this.

Of course, as soon as she had told Pansy Parkinson that her name was Lyra Snape, rumour had traveled all over the school in less than a minute. Everyone was staring at her and whispering. Lily kept her hair in her face as she chewed on the morning toast, waiting for her alleged father to come issue the timetables

"Is it true? Are you Snape's daughter?"someone asked from her side.

She lifted her head to look at the person and was shocked when she came face to face with his face.

"Score? "she asked hopefully, could he have come too? It was easier to handle things when you were two. She was about to give him a side hug when she noticed the confusion on his face.

"What is score supposed to mean? "

Lily stopped in her tracks, of course Draco Malfoy! Scorpius father. Lily was shocked at the resemblance, she had met the grown up Draco several times, he looked like his son of course, but not by this much.

"Oh, you look like someone I used to know, sorry. I am Lyra Snape and yes, I am his daughter,"Lily replied.

"Funny he never mentioned you, I am Draco, Draco Malfoy, he is my godfather. "

"Oh, "Lily blinked, "Well, I suppose he didn't mention it because we didn't exactly know each other c a while ago. "

"Why? "Draco asked. Lily could tell he was asking for everyone at the table.

Lily took a bite of her toast, "My mum didn't tell him I was his daughter, she raised me alone. She died during summer but she left a letter telling me who he was, so I looked for him. "

"Oh, sorry about your mother,"Draco said.

Lily shrugged, "Thanks, am learning to cope with it. "

"Why didn't you attend Hogwarts before? "

"I was honeschooled, my mum didn't want me to come, she was from America you know, they don't like boarding schools over there. "

"So your mother, was she a purebloood?"

Lily felt like hitting him. He was such a bigot, but he wasn't the only one. Lily had been only been in the company of Slytherins in less than ten minutes and already, she had heard the word mudblood mentioned thrice. Her father had explained to her how bad it had been during his time, but he had never said it was this bad. Her hand twitched towards her wand, instead, she forced a smile on her face and lifted her chin slightly towards the teacher's table.

"Would my father have settled for anything less? "

Draco gave her a smile, "I think not, he is a proud man."

After that, the curiosity about Lily seemed to go down a notch as people went back to their breakfast. Lily kept her hair in front of her face, she avoided looking at the Grryfindor table although she was curious. She didn't want to see them, not now, if she saw them, she will crave going home and it will be so bad. Lily normally didn't cry, she hadn't cried since she was eight, but sometimes, away from everyone you knew, looking at propel who might you know are going to die, tears may come.

Snape handed her her timetable without a word. She was just scooping up her bag to go to the first class, defense against the dark arts when she saw her. She was younger than Lily, blonde, and very very pretty. Scorpius had shown her photos, Lily had even met her once, the summer before she passed away. That time, the woman had been all bones, the cancer killing her had gotten too far. Lily knew she had to talk to her, for Scorpius ' sake. She was seated across from her chatting with friends. Lily didn't want to arouse too much curiosity, so she walked away to class.
