Chapter 3

I have just woken up. A sore headache is filling my head. I open my eyes slowly. I'm in the dark dull hall way, it was abandoned. No noise. Not a living soul in sight. I waited there for my fate to come. An hour had gone then I suddenly heard footsteps beating on the hard floor growing louder and louder and louder. I didn't dare to look up. Instead I closed my eyes and I took in every step hoping I'll be dead by the time they got to me. That was not the case the footsteps stopped. I opened my eyes looking at the floor, in front of me were a pair of dark black shiny smart shoes.

Then the shoes stared to move and went into a room. Two guards took one arm each, then brought me into the room. They shoved me into a hard plastic chair in front of a grand desk made of antique oak with dark green leather in the middle of the desk. A man was sitting at a large dark brown leather seat.

He let out a sigh.

"The 51st time this winter." He began, "why do you keep running away?"

"I'm sorry sir" I said in a pathetic voice.

"Why?" he asked again with anger dripping from every word.

"Because I was going to find them, the animals I always go to find"

"Have you ever found them?" He said settling down.

"No sir."

"Right. You should keep it that way, they are nasty things. Now how should I deal with you this time. I have been too easy on you." There was a long pause before he continued, "2 weeks in the cold dungeons. Feed her any scraps that are left from the kitchen and a bowl of cold porridge a day."

"Please don't" I pleaded. I hated porridge.

"Now take her out from my sight."

With that the two guards took my arms again and escorted me to the cold dungeons.

I felt the cold through my thin clothes. As they pushed me into a cell, they stared to kick me untill I  bled...
