Hongjoong owns a small all-night café, which he stays up to work. Mingi decides to surprise him at 2:00 in the morning (since he can't sleep) and shows up to keep his lover awake.

The red lights illuminated the inside of Hongjoong's café, slowly lulling him to sleep. He fought the wave of tiredness away so he could tend to the very few people sitting in his workplace.

Most of them were working on their laptops for school-related things, Hongjoong guessed. He was like them, too, once.

"Would you like more robusta coffee, sir?" Hongjoong asked one guy, who had finished his coffee and was trying to stay awake. "Yes, please," He answered.

Hongjoong refilled the cup with coffee, then brought it back to the man who thanked him and went back to looking at his laptop.

The tired man went back to standing behind the counter, waiting the three customers to either leave or order more beverages.

None spoke or moved much in the next hour, and one by one the customers all left. Hongjoong sighed in relief and tiredness, seeing that he was now free to go home to Mingi's warm embrace.

He started to clean up and do the nightly things before getting to leave. He turned off the neon 'open' sign and went to the back to lock the door and turn off the lights.

A ding from the front door alerted him, so he called out to whoever entered. "I'm sorry, but we're closed now. Feel free to come by again another time!"

With the door locked, Hongjoong took off his uniform shirt and threw on a thin shirt so he'd be less hot. He hummed along to a Day6 song that was stuck in his head and walked back towards the front door.

"Happy Valentines Day, Joong."

Hongjoong jumped at the sudden voice. "Mingi!" A very surprised Hongjoong said once he saw the nighttime greeter was none other than his lover.

A smile appeared on the tired man's lips as he noticed Mingi was wearing a shirt the latter had bought for his birthday. "It's not even technically Valentines anymore," Hongjoong laughed, walking over to Mingi and grabbing his hands.

"I don't care, baby. I haven't gotten to see you hardly at all today." Mingi said, guiding Hongjoong over to a small booth near the back of the café.

"I couldn't sleep, and then I noticed that you were still gone. You're so hardworking, so I think you deserve something nice." Mingi smiled and pushed Hongjoong into the booth.

He squeezed in next to his boyfriend, crushing the smaller man into the wall. "There's another booth, y'know!" Hongjoong said, furiously pulling his leg out from underneath Mingi's ass.

"But if I did that, then I wouldn't be able to hold you." Mingi pointed out, wrapping his arms around Hongjoong. "We could go home and do that, Gi. I'm really tired." Hongjoong whined.

Mingi smiled his beautiful smile, looking into Hongjoong's eyes and caressing his face. "Okay, Joongie. Come on, I'll carry you."

Mingi allowed Hongjoong to slip off of his back and into their shared bed. "Aah, I'm hella tired, I couldn't fall asleep without you next to me." Mingi said, jumping onto the mattress.

Hongjoong bounces up slightly due to the added weight, sighing and stretching his arms. "Can you please settle down, Mingi? I'm going to pass out on you." Hongjoong said.

Mingi rolled onto his side of the bed then slipped under the sheets. He turned to face Hongjoong and laid a kiss on his back. "I know you're tired, but I want to let you know that I'm sorry I couldn't spend Valentines with you."

Hongjoong, almost half-asleep, turned to face his boyfriend. "It's alright, Gi. We both had to work today, and I know you love me anyway. I don't need anything special." He said, wrapping his arms around Mingi's neck.

"I know, Joong. But I want to take you somewhere tomorrow evening. We'll be well rested by then, and properly enjoy each other." Mingi smiled, bringing Hongjoong in for a kiss.

Mingi's plump lips felt soft against Hongjoong's cheeks and neck as his lover parted from the older and gave him more kisses.

"It's like 2:23 now," Hongjoong says, closing his eyes and leaning into Mingi's chest. "We should sleep."

With Mingi's arms wrapped around him along with the bedsheets, Hongjoong slowly drifted to sleep.

Mingi's hand came up and combed through Hongjoong's soft silver locks as the smaller boy breathed in his scent. "Happy Valentines Day," he murmured, inhaling Mingi's warmth.

"Goodnight, Joong. Happy Valentines Day."
