—everyone can agree that Ateez's choreography is absolutely stunning and complicated, especially for a rookie group. but it isn't always easy to learn the moves...—

Mingi sighed at himself in frustration for the billionth time that day.

"What's so hard about this damn section? Everyone can do it but me!" He complained to Hongjoong, who was sitting in front of the mirror and observing each of the members' performance.

"It just takes practice, Mingi. You'll get it eventually." Hongjoong said, giving the troubled man a reassuring smile. But, Mingi still felt like he let their leader down.

"Come and rest for a moment," Hongjoong patted the floor next to him and invited Mingi to sit. "San, is there anything you want to work on in the choreography?"

While the rest of the members sat silently and watched each other, Mingi sulked with his head thrown back against the mirror and mouth wide open. He hated messing up.

"I've let you sleep for long enough, Gigi. Please wake up now,"

Mingi was brought back into consciousness by the sound of Hongjoong's perky voice. "You'll get a cramp if you sit with your neck bent like that. Why don't we go bring you to your room?"

Mingi nodded, slowly standing up and stretching before following Hongjoong out of the door. "How long was I there?" He asked, blushing when his voice cracked from sleep.

"Not too long. I decided I'd let you sleep during the rest of practice so you could recharge. Everyone's lounging around and stuff." The shorter replied, slowing so Mingi could walk beside him.

Despite having just woken up, Mingi felt really tired. "I'm just going to go to bed again," Mingi said as the two walked into his room. "I've been really tired recently. It's hard to fall asleep sometimes."

Hongjoong sat down on Mingi's bed with him, soon turning to face him. "So you're not sleeping well? Why didn't you tell me?" Hongjoong asked.

Mingi sighed and rubbed his eyes. "I'm sorry. I just thought that it would go away soon. It usually does," he said. Hongjoong didn't say anything back for a few seconds.

"If you ever can't sleep, just tell me and I'll be there. Listen, Gi, this isn't just about being perfect at our choreography. If you're tired, your body can't function well. I'd have a heart attack if you suddenly collapse."

The older trailed off with a little laugh, successfully lightening the mood. "You have such a nice laugh," Mingi said, almost nonchalantly. He didn't realize what he said.

This time, Hongjoong was the one blushing. "Thank you..."

Hongjoong scooted himself farther up on Mingi's bed. "Come here, Mingi, I'll make you fall asleep in no time." He said, beckoning the latter to lay his head in his lap.

Mingi's body relaxed as he felt Hongjoong's nimble fingers combing through his hair softly. His eyes slipped closed in a matter of minutes.

Glad that the usually energetic boy could get some sleep, Hongjoong smiled down at the sight in his lap. "You're a great dancer, babe. We all mess up on things, nobody's perfect."

Mingi smiled upon hearing those words come out of his favorite person's mouth. Quietly adjusting himself, Hongjoong laid down beside Mingi on the bed.

"And plus, dancing isn't everything. You're such an amazing rapper, and you have the most pleasant personality." He went on, addressing the almost-asleep man in his lap as if he was wide awake.

And, he was awake.

What went through Mingi's brain at the time was, frankly, nothing. Both were not expecting the younger to sit up and bring Hongjoong's face close to his.

"You make me feel so good about myself, Joongie. Thank you," Mingi whispered, bringing his hand to rest under Hongjoong's chin. Hongjoong was a very bright red color as he processed what Mingi had just said to him.

No words had to be shared between the two to understand what Mingi was about to do. As soon as their lips touched, a burst of nervousness blossomed in his chest.

His cheeks and ears heated up to match Hongjoong's rosy blush as both maneuvered their lips against each other.

Eventually, Mingi felt brave enough to lift Hongjoong's body onto his. They separated from each other and Hongjoong laid his head down onto Mingi's chest.

"Holy shit, I can't believe that just happened." The latter said, wrapping his arms around Hongjoong's back. Both were smiling, excited by the moment they had shared.

"I really really like you," Mingi said, running a hand through Hongjoong's silver hair. "I really really like you too, Mingi." He laughed, sitting up and pinching the other's cheeks.

Mingi smiled before bringing Hongjoong in for another kiss. His lips were soft and rather small compared to Mingi's, but that just made the older even cuter.

"You're really good at that," Hongjoong blushed, hiding his face from a smiling Mingi. "You know, you could get this from me every day," Mingi said, leaning into Hongjoong.

Both were smiling as they studied each other. "If you became my boyfriend."

Hongjoong's eyes smiled, making Mingi's heart palpitate. "Then that's what I'll do." He said, laying down and bringing Mingi with him.

The two stayed up for a while longer, talking and laughing about anything that came to their minds.

"Okay, so I think I'm going to pass out now," Mingi murmured, pulling the covers farther up his body. "Okay, Gigi. I hope you feel better about yourself tomorrow. Sleep well."

Hongjoong smiled as he watched the young rapper slowly fall asleep. He laid his head down on his arm and observed his boyfriend's beauty before going into a deep slumber.
