Adventurers Academy (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter 1

Food. Everywhere. As far my eyes could see. Steak, pasta, even, dare I say it, croissants.

Now you may be thinking, "What a wonderful dream!"

Well, it would be. IF I COULD EAT ANY  OF IT. Because as soon as I try to take a bite of any of the food, it, ya know, MOVES 15 FEET IN FRONT OF ME. 

But I'm almost there. I'm currently stalking a piece of steak, and I'm almost there. As soon as I'm about to jump on it, something happens.

SPLASH

A cold bucket of water splashes onto me. As I'm trying to process what happened, the only thing I could say was "Hello?"

As my blurry eyes clear, the person that I wanted to see the least at that moment was in front of me.

My brother Rowan.

As I slowly get up, I see my brother holding a half-empty bucket of water in his hands.

"Get up you pig."

I calmly inhaled. Then slowly exhaled. Finally, I say, "WHO THE FRICK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE CALLING A PIG YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHI-"

SPLASH

Rowan calmly splashed the remaining water from the bucket onto my face and said, "Are you done yet?"

"Because Mom told me to wake you up, and I'm taking time out of my precious schedule to do this" he continued.

This little ball of sunshine is my little brother, Rowan. 3 years younger than me, and at the ripe age of 13 has already succeeded in being the annoying little brother stereotype. 

Chesnut brown hair that we both got from our mother, and hazel eyes from our father that Rowan always seemed to pull off in the most infuriating way possible.

"Will you at least tell me what time it is?"

He checked his pocket watch. "It's 8:13"

"WHAT!? I PROMISED LILITH I'D WALK WITH HER AT 8:05!" I yelled.

I shot out of bed and immediately started to dress myself.

Rowan covered his eyes and screamed "AT LEAST WAIT TILL I'M OUT OF THE ROOM YOU PIG" as he ran out the door. 

"SORRY BRAT" I replied.

I rushed out of my room and ran quickly down the stairs.

Coincidentally, as I was rushing past the kitchen table, I saw a sandwich with a note next to it.

I picked up the note. It read:

Hi honey! Sorry I wasn't able to actually wish you a happy first day of school. A new job came in, so I at least made you a breakfast sandwich. Have a great day :)

- Mom

I smiled, then grabbed the sandwich. I then shot out of the door and at the sandwich as I ran down the street.

Wait. Who's that?

I squinted my eyes. 

I saw a girl wearing a black dress that greatly contrasted with her platinum blonde hair. My eyes widened, and I increased my speed to catch up with her.

"LILITH!! WAIT FOR MEEEEE!!!"

She stopped, turned around and calmly waited for me.

I caught up and started to walk alongside her.

Meet my best friend Lilith. Please don't be swayed by her sweet appearance, as she can also be the devil reincarnated. But that's only if you get on her bad side. Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way. Which I might quickly learn again.

"May I ask what took you so long?" She said as she smiled sweetly.

"Well..." Crap. If she finds out I overslept I'm done for.

"I... had to walk my cat" Dear Mya. Why do you never realize that you're a terrible liar?

"Oh? But I thought Rowan's allergic?" She said as her smile grew bigger.

"I... uh," I started to stutter.

"You wouldn't happen to be lying to me, right?" She said as she tilted her head.

I pointed ahead and shouted, "OH WE'RE HERE!"

Thankfully, before I was going to get my ass beat, we reached our destination.

"You're safe. For now." Lilith said.

I gave an awkward smile as we both continued to the welcoming ceremony.

Yes. 

There is a welcoming ceremony.

I took a deep breath, then calmed myself down.

After the ceremony, that's when my adventurer-in-training life will begin. Then, I'll eventually become an adventurer! I can't wait!!
