The Way Things Go With Me

Hello. My name is Marigold Smith and I am diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. I can't walk and I have a lot of trouble talking so I mostly don't. One thing that is important about me is that my favorite color is blue and a teal-ish green. Oh, and I have to live with all my thoughts stuck in my head without any way to express it because my voice doesn't sound all the way right, so you don't know what I am saying. My wrists are too thin and weak to do anything and my throat can't work and I have nightmares all the time. I am basically helpless. Then there is my mom. She is amazing! Somehow she has the time to care for me and teach my homeschooling group. I swear, she has superpowers, she can do those things and many more just by herself. My dad left me and my mom when I was ten months old. All I know about him is that he is a coward running from everything that is not normal and is ugly. She doesn't like talking about him because it makes her sad.

Me and my mom both know that I am really intelligent, but the doctors think I am retarded, sure I forget somethings, but otherwise, I can learn anything if I wish to, I just can't talk, that is the big problem. My mom offered to take me to speech school, but I attempted to say no because I know that I am different and I also know that people don't like different, and to be honest, I am scared that people will bully me and hurt me.

Ok, enough about the depressing stuff, on to my hobbies.
My favorite band is the Beatles and my favorite artists are John Denver and Cat Stevens. I like watching professional soccer games and Gymnastics. Also, my perfect weather is in the 60s and 70s. Those are the days that I get to take a stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy the cool breeze brush against my face, those are the days to where I don't care what people think of me... The days where I am not scared to show who I really am. I also like reading good fiction and adventure books. Sometimes that is the only way that I can fall asleep, then the nightmares... Anyway
Out If my neighborhood, there is a playground that I can ride to. I like to ride around a lot because then it strengthens my arms and maybe even my wrists. I also really like the garden that my mom had created for my third birthday. She had planted the most beautiful flowers like Dahlias, Marigolds, Magnolias, Camellias, and several more. She also planted some tomatoes and cucumbers. Oh, and a fun fact my mom named me after the flower called Marigold because my mom said I looked like the most beautiful flower she has ever seen, beautiful in my own way.  And I believe her because she is right, even though I don't look too good on the outside, I look beautiful on the inside, I am kind and generous. Especially, no one should be based on what they look like, that is outrageous, my mom is the best looking woman I have ever seen and there are some pretty good looking guys that we're at her high school  ( at least that is what she said) that had asked her out, and once she got to know them, they were absolute jerks so she denied them and said no. You go, mom! Even though you kinda failed with dad... Oh well.
