Just as Ashton had promised, Michael had literally been ignoring me all day.
By the time lunch came, the silence was too much.
Luke, Ashton, and Cal were all waiting for me by the front of the cafeteria, warm smiles plastered on each of their faces.
Luke hugged me first, again kissing my cheek.
I blushed hard at all the faces staring at us in the hallway; Ashton looked paranoid.
"Ash what's wrong?" I asked him.
He gave me the 'I'll tell you later' look in response.
Once Luke fully released me, I went over to Ash and Calum and hugged them tightly.
We strolled into the cafeteria together, quite a few people looking our way as Luke's hand reached around my shoulders, him seeming to sense my discomfort.
The three of us plopped down on a nearby empty bench and waited for our table to be dismissed to get food.
It was silent for a few minutes until Luke spoke up, "Where's Mike?"
Ashton looked incredibly uncomfortable at the question, Calum seeming as curious as I did.
"Well uh, he decided to sit somewhere else this week."
My eyes scanned the cafeteria until I found the familiar head of purple-black hair.
Michael was sitting at a table by himself.
My heart hurt at the sight, and I considered going over to him.
I resisted the urge, considering he's ignoring me.
Almost a second before I turned back around, a girl appeared at the table Michael was sitting at, and sat down.
But she didn't just 'sit down' she sat straight on his lap.
The first feeling I had was confusion.
Is he ignoring me because he has a girlfriend?
Why didn't he tell me he had a girlfriend?
Beyond confused, I turned back around to face the boys.
A single tear fell from my left eye, and I quickly swiped it away with the sleeve of the Vic Firth hoodie Ashton let me borrow.
(Vic Firth is a brand of drumsticks)
Cal was the first to noticed me being incredibly quiet.
He scooted next to me on the bench and whispered, "What's wrong?"
I replied back with a simple, "I'll tell tell you later." He shook is head and turned back his attention to whatever conversation was going on before.
Luke followed the exact pattern that Calum had done, and scooted closer to me.
He wrapped his arms around my torso and put his head on my shoulder whispering close to my ear, "Babe, what's wrong?" Goosebumps took over my body and I couldn't respond.
Ashton had noticed my sadness from the start, I could tell because he was shooting daggers across the room at the table Michael previously sat at.
Our table of four was given permission to stand up and get lunvh so we did so, the boys never leaving my side.
Ashton is a huge protecter, but didn't do anything because of Luke's close proximity to me.
And of course like every other school cafeteria, the selections were shit.
Shepard's Pie, grilled cheese, or a baked potato.
I went with the obvious, grilled cheese, grabbed a water bottle, and finished at the check out.
The three boys waited for me and I quickly joined them.
Coincidently, we walked right past Michael's table giving me an opportunity to assess the situation.
A brown haired girl wearing way too much make to be legal, and so much hair spray she could spontaniously combust sat firmly of his lap.
He outfit consisted of a crop top, leggings, and uggs.
Classy I see.
And not taking this moment for granted as we locked eyes, Michael smirked.
Ashton met his eyes and flipped him off.
At least someone understands what I'm going through.
90% of our lunch conversation was on video games, 5% band stuff, and the other 5% about hot teachers.
The weird part? I didn't feel even the least bit out of place.
