The calming sound of waves. A sand corn tickling her eye. A ray of sunlight tore her out of her deep sleep. "Where am I?" This was the first thought that went through her head as soon as she realized she was laying on a beach. She couldn't remember anything. Only remote memories were left in her mind. Her name was Helena Walker. And she lived somewhere in Australia. And she must have been a biologist of some sort. She couldn't remember anything else.
There was a rhomboid, orange chip implanted on her left wrist. What was its purpose? Since she was heavily concentrated thinking about it, she didn't even realize there was something moving behind her. But as soon as she felt something gently touching her left heel, she abruptly turned around. But the little creature immediately fled away. It wasn't anything Helena had ever seen before. It was tiny, probably not even three feet long, and it had a pig's traits. Although, it was obvious that it was a reptile. It could have been a little dinosaur. "Ah, bullshit", she said out loud, "I'm not walking around in Jurassic Park". Therefore she decided to leave that mysterious animal behind, and she began looking for material to build a little shelter. She found some stones, thatch and quite a few black berries along the way. Since her stomach had been begging for food for quite some time, she decided to eat some of them. But right after consuming them, her sudden feeling of tiredness won over her need to build a safe shelter and she fell asleep.
Once she woke up due to a deep growling sound, she had no idea about how long she had been sleeping. The only thing she was able to see were two yellow eyes staring deep into her soul. As soon as those eyes moved into the light of Helena's fireplace, the body appeared. She couldn't trust her eyes, she was shaking and sweating cold. That mysterious animal was a raptor. And it wasn't alone: another two appeared on its side. They were hungry. And Helena would've been their dinner. She virtualized death in front of her. Fortunately, she got control over her legs and ran away as fast as she could. She was running for her life. The loud, running steps of the three raptors were still clearly distinguishable behind her, breaking branches and rushing through the darkness. She was about to become their tasty meal. As she was aimlessly speeding through the darkness, she suddenly ran her face into something rough. Her eyes quickly scanned the tree-like object, which led her to a shocking sight: in front of her, an enormous brontosaurus was carelessly roaming around and chewing on a large branch, seemingly careless of her abrupt appearance. But an acute screech immediately pulled her back into reality: those damn raptors weren't going to give up anytime soon. But all of a sudden, a brilliant idea flashed through her head: she instantly hid behind one of the herbivore's gargantuan legs. But the latter unexpectedly startled and pushed a strong, echoing roar of fear and panic out of its massive chest. She looked up. A drop of blood fell onto her forehead. On the left side of the brontosaur's massive stomach, the pack of raptors had latched on like coat hooks and were starting to rip out large chunks of flesh. The sauropod's tail repeatedly swung over Helena's head like a gigantic whip, although it couldn't hit anything. As cruel as it may sound, its death was the perfect opportunity for Helena to flee and seek safety. As she was sprinting back into the woods, she could only hear how the brontosaur collapsed to the ground with a heartbreaking roar, making the ground shake under her feet, while the raptors were feasting over their succulent meal. She had fought for her life for the very first time. At this moment it became clear that this experience had only been the beginning.
