"NO!"
Bolt woke up with a start. It was 5:00 in the morning. He looked around, and Penny wasn't in her bed. What? She would be sleeping right now! Maybe she woke up early. He thought. He walked over to the kitchen, then to the living room, then to her parents' bedroom, then even into the bathroom— but she wasn't in any of those rooms.
"PENNY?!" Bolt yelled frantically, causing Rhino and Mittens to wake up suddenly.
"What about Penny?" Rhino asked.
"Sh-she's gone! I can't find her anywhere!" Bolt exclaimed.
"Calm down, maybe she went outside," Mittens tried to soothe him.
Bolt looked outside, and he saw Penny— but she was being taken away by a mysterious man! He growled. Before he could reach the man, he drove away in his car.
"Penny!" Bolt howled. "I will get her back. If anyone gets in my way, they... will... pay!"
Mittens paced around the kitchen worriedly. "He should be back by now..." she murmured. Then she heard a scratch at the door. She opened it, opened her mouth to say "BOLT!" But then closed it. It was a note, in Bolt's handwriting. It read:

"Wha— this means— Penny's been kidnapped! We've got to help him!" Mittens exclaimed

"Wha— this means— Penny's been kidnapped! We've got to help him!" Mittens exclaimed.
"Are you blind? It says 'Don't try to come with me'!" Rhino said.
"I'll do it anyway."
