FRIDAY

BREE
"Girl, stop complaining." My best-friend, Aiya said to me."Bitch, it's hot out here and you tryna walk all this way to see these scrawny ass boys play." I told her, rolling my eyes as I fanned myself. Aiya wanted to go to the neighborhood basketball court to watch the boys play. Or to watch her boy play.
"You should be happy. You look cute, and maybe Marc is there, you know he be playin' with them." She smirked over at me. "Girl.. ain't nobody worried about Marc no more." I told her, scoffing. Marc was my ex, and Aiya loved bringing him up.
"Please. You know you love that man." She retorted as we made our way through the gate. I just rolled my eyes. I was growing irritated because of the hot ass Tampa weather. Me and Aiya made our way through the crowded bleachers and took a seat at the top.
"Ooo, girl look at my man!" Aiya squealed, pointing to her dude, Draylen. He was brownskin and tall, with tattoos coating his body and somewhat curly hair.
"Yea, I see him. He gettin' his ankles broke out there." I said, causing Aiya and I to laugh. "Leave my baby alone, Bree." She laughed, nudging me with her elbow.
We watched the game for a while before I started to get hungry. "I'm about to get something to eat, you want something?" I asked Aiya, standing up from where I sat. "Yea, get me a hotdog with ketchup and mustard and a Sprite please." She told me, and I nodded, pulling down my denim shorts.
I walked down the bleachers, catching the eye of a couple boys who were taking a break from playing ball. As I walked to the food kiosk, I spotted someone who was already staring me down. Marc. I rolled my eyes, standing in line as I tried to ignore his stare.
"C'mon, really Tink?" Marc said, walking up to me. Tink was the nickname he'd given me when we were dating. "Leave me alone, Marc."
"Baby, you still mad over that? I apologized so many times already.." Marc said, sucking his teeth as he pulled on my shorts loop. I swatted his hand away from me, stepping back a little bit.
"You fucked my ex-friend.. in my room.." I said, squinting her eyes at him. "Leave me the fuck alone." I told him, voicing all seriousness. Marc stayed for a few seconds more, just looking at me. He let out a deep sigh before eventually walking away, going back to his friend group feeling defeated.
Soon, it was my time to order. "Hi, can I get two hot dogs with ketchup and mustard and a Sprite?" I ordered. "Of course. That'll be $5.83." The old man said. I handed him the money, letting him keep the change. Not too long after, he handed me the food and drink. "Thank you." I said, flashing my pearly whites and deep dimples. Turning around, I bumped into someone, causing one of the hotdogs to fall out my hand and onto the ground.
