Her body was aching all over, how long has she been laying down on the concrete floor anyway? She looked towards her clothes and saw the blood staining the white large shirt she wore. Her now brunette hair was in a mess. She tried to stand up but her left leg was aching all over. Days must have past.

Her wrists, thighs and ankles were covered in bruises. "Rui!" She tried to scream but nothing came out remembering that Kai had found out their plans. She remembered hearing gunshots before blacking out. "I'm sorry," she cried into her palms. She tried to stand up again but her legs were aching so much. Her ears are surprisingly sharp, she held her breath when she heard footsteps coming in.

She plopped herself on the floor, hiding her face. "Ditch me somewhere, I'm'dead'" her mind kept chanting that. Alas, he picked her up. "I can't let him have you too." He said, chaining her hands together with a handcuff, he walked downstairs and let her sit at the backseat while he went to the driver's seat.

She peeked outside and they were headed towards outside of town. She needed to escape while they were in town and to safety. She looked towards his side and saw he was preoccupied with a map in his hands. She hastily chocked him with the handcuffed making him lost control of the vehicle, hitting a lamppost. She ran towards the busy street, fighting the aching feeling in her leg.

She ran towards the alleyways, running with no directions in her mind until she bumped into a hard chest. "Ack!" Her legs had given up and she was sure her ankle was broken. "Jennie?" She hid her face, "please not him," she pleaded or more accurately shaking in fear. "Jennie," the voice was soft, he cupped her cheeks softly, "It's okay it's me, Taehyung" he swept her off the ground, hiding her small frame from anyone's view.

"The earrings..." she started asking first when he set her down on the bed. "It's yours." He nonchalantly said, picking up a mirror. "Let me show you something, he pushed her hair away as he showed the mirror at her nape. "See, it's like a birthmark for heirs of Corona, and I'm yours. I'm your Marionette." He picked her hand and rest it on his earrings, "Try taking it off." He talks to her so soft, she felt safe with this stranger.

She tried but it won't budge at all, "It can only be taken off with a special device with your code." He took out a ring from his pocket and showed it to her, she looked at the ring and saw it was the same as her, "See this? It's our initials." He said again, "..Did you try to kill me?" She asked that question was burning in the back of her mind, "No, but I didn't protect you enough." His eyes were brimming with tears.

"Show me your scars," He said. "But...why?" She asked quizzically, she was covered in bruises and felt intimidated. "I want to see how many times you needed me and I wasn't there," he whispered, a tear rolling down his cheek. "I'm sorry," he whispered over and over again. Jennie was puzzled yet her heartaches, what was he sorry for? Why can't she remember it? Her hands slid towards his cheeks, wiping the tears away, closing her eyes she said, "Please protect me now,"

God, he felt like crying, killing himself when he looks at her. After his friends went back to Hamgye, he was set to hunt Kai down. It was dark outside and quite empty since it was outskirts of town. A sudden car accident alerted him, a woman running away. He heard of kidnapping cases happening in Milan through the higher-ups and he was determined to save her.

He took another route, one he knows that will bump into her and when she did, his heartaches again yet at the same time he had just wanted to engulf her, crying, thanking the gods at the same time. Her current state was what broke him more. She didn't even remember who he was and she was okay with him since she wanted to know about his earrings.

She looked skinner and her body was filled with bruises, she looked weak, fragile like she could break any moment. When he insisted her to take a shower first, he felt like crying again. Her hips, ribs all of them were covered in bruises. What did Kai do to her? "Do you trust me that I won't harm you?" He asked when she had been cleaned up.

She hesitated to answer. He took out a gun from his holster, "for you, if you ever feel unsafe, just aim at me and pull the trigger. I can't force you to trust me but I won't ever harm you." He was hoping she would have a little faith at him. God, Kai had screwed her up so bad. She was constantly shaking in fear.

"Let me help you," Taehyung picked up the spoon and starts feeding her the porridge. "Do you want to go back home? To Hamgye?" He asked, maybe being with the rest will speed up her memory process and looking at her state, she needed treatments. Who knows what kind of drug had she been injected? "Will he be there?" Her voice quivers just by thinking of him.

"He might return if he knows you're there. He'll go anywhere you go. But I swear on my life that I won't even let him come near you." What Taehyung said must have been effective since her left hand, squeeze softly his hand. The night spent was quiet, Taehyung was set to return and upon his request, a private plane tomorrow morning. Jennie must have been so afraid that Kai would come to get her that she kept searching for his warmth. "This time, I swear I'll protect you and won't even lie to you anymore."

p.s have taehyung or jennie told each other 'i love you' ?? i myself am not too sure but rest assured we know they love each other so much even without uttering the words 'i love you'. Or does the "im falling in love with you" back at their ballroom dancing (corona chapter 28 : misunderstanding is a bitch) counts? Welp but i think they haven't said the simple 'i love you'

i remember someone told me that if a couple needs to say 'i love you' to tell that they're in love, they are technically not in love. well idk about you but sometimes there are many others ways to say i love you. and actions speak louder than words!
