prejudice

all seven boys sat together at their regular table during lunch. namjoon, seokjin, yoongi, hoseok, jimin, taehyung, and jungkook. they all had their regular spots. taehyung next to jungkook, namjoon next to seokjin, jimin next to hoseok, and yoongi in the furthest seat away from jimin as possible.

namjoon, hoseok, and yoongi had been best friends since elementary school. it wasn't really until seokjin, taehyung, and jungkook had asked to sit with them at lunch one day during sixth grade that they had all became close friends. jimin was the last of the boys to join the group when he moved to their school in eigth grade.

although most of the boys were perfectly fine with jimin joining their group, yoongi wasn't. he always refused to sit with him at lunch, he never wanted to partner up with him for group projects, and he even went as far as trying to uninvite jimin to namjoon's 14th birthday party.

(of course, the other boys didn't let that happen)

you could say yoongi had some sort of prejudice toward the new boy. jimin hung out with hoseok the most, and soon enough it had seemed as if hoseok had a new best friend. yoongi was always very jealous of jimin for that.

he hated jimin for "stealing" his best friend.

after a year of being excluded and bullied by yoongi, jimin had finally had enough and decided to do the most mature thing anybody could do-

he treated yoongi the same way he treated him. the ongoing war between them had been going on since freshman year of highschool- and they were now seniors.

"yah! i told you to quit taking my food, you punk," jin exclaimed with a mouth full of food as jimin cheekily stole a fry from his tray. jimin giggled and quickly slipped the fry into his mouth and smiled.

yoongi scoffed, "pig." jimin heard his remark and shot his head up to glare at him.

"nobody asked, douchebag."

all of the other boys sighed, tired of their constant bickering. it became a daily routine for the two- it was nearly impossible to get them to stop arguing.

yoongi, stood up from his seat, "you know what, jimin-"

"yoongi, sit down. jimin, please be nice," namjoon pleaded. yoongi obediently sat and jimin puffed his cheeks out.

"i don't appreciate him calling me a pig," jimin pouted.

"well i don't appreciate his annoying ass laugh. it's fucking annoying."

jimin scoffed and rolled his eyes. he got up from his seat and went to buy lunch as hoseok followed him. yoongi watched the two best friends, a slight pang of hurt in his chest.

"why do you two hate each other, anyway?" jungkook cocked an eyebrow, sipping on banana milk. yoongi shrugged and left the table silently. a long moment of quietness dawned on the table until taehyung spoke.

"i swear to god they are the pettiest people i have ever met," he rubbed his cheek with his hand. namjoon cracked a smile and snickered,

"they'd make a cute couple."
