"THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"
the crowd erupted with cheers as all the American athletes poured out into the stadium waving American flags and filming everything with their phones and cameras.
I looked at the t.v longingly, I wish I was there with all of the other athletes, but instead I was on my own in my room in the athletes village feeling miserable.
The team qualifying round was tomorrow and I knew I had to be rested, the opening ceremonies don't finish till 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, and I have to be up at 8 tomorrow. Plus I haven't exactly been performing my best recently so a late night is the last thing I need.
Sighing I switched off the tv and snuggled under my covers, I was finally here, in the athletes village and the gold medal was so close, I had to perform well!
I drifted off to sleep going over and over my routines in my head, 'I'm the best vaulter in the world' I thought, tomorrow I'm going to show everybody what I can do!
