The phone was laying on the table next to the door, he must've put it there when putting on his coat. He was about to get out of the café when he heard something. A small sound. It almost sounded like a sniff? He stopped and listened again. Nothing. But then, as he had nearly opened the doors, he heard it again. He turned around and looked at the closed door of the break room. Someone was definitely in there.

When he got back to the café a few minutes ago, the doors were still open. He assumed it was Kun who was still in there, finishing up the paperwork for today. But, Kun was never working in the break room. Was one of his other coworkers in there? He wanted to check, but also didn't want to invade on their privacy.

He walked over to the door of the break room and softly knocked on the door. 'Hello?' He asked carefully. There was no response, but Sicheng was sure there was someone in there. He opened the door a little and asked again: 'H-hello? Is anyone here?'

Again, a small sniff was heard. Sicheng opened the door completely and stepped inside to see who was there.

Yuta was sitting on the small bench in the corner of the room with his knees up to his chest. It looked like he was... crying?

Sicheng watched the scene in shock. Yuta, his coworker, that seemed to not like him at all, was crying? He looked at Yuta, any movement he had was stopped.

Yuta's eyes, filled with more emotion than he had ever shown Sicheng, were full of tears. A small tear falling down his cheek as he looked at Sicheng.

Yuta looked so fragile, like a diamond that could shatter to pieces any moment. He was sitting there, all curled up in a ball, looking like he was the smallest person in the world.

Sicheng stuttered, not sure how to act: 'Y-yuta? Um, a-are you okay?'

Yuta nodded and looked away: 'Y-yeah. It's nothing. You can go now.'

Sicheng ran a hand through his hair as he slowly walked a little closer to his coworker. 'I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but you don't really look okay.' He softly said.

Yuta tried to slightly laugh, but it didn't really work. He sounded like he tried to cover his sadness up, as he spoke: 'I'm an ugly crier, I get red very easily. It's nothing. You don't have to stay, really. I'll be fine.'

Sicheng softly laughed as he carefully sat next to Yuta, trying to make the conversation a little bit lighter: 'We haven't known each other for long, but let me tell you this: if I had a coworker of mine crying in the break room, I wouldn't just leave them there by themselves! I'm not as good with people, but I'll always try to help them! Especially when they're sad. So, what I'm trying to say is, I'm not going to leave you here by yourself, whether you like it or not. You don't have to tell me why you're sad or anything, but let me at least try to cheer you up or make you feel a bit better, okay?'

Yuta tried to smile a little, but then, more tears started rolling down his cheeks and he covered his head in his hands. Sicheng was startled and he didn't know what to do. Did he say anything wrong? He was just trying to be nice, though. He really wanted to help Yuta, he looked so sad, it worried him.

All of a sudden, Yuta's shivering breath was heard and he spoke up, his voice muffled by his hands: 'I'm sorry for crying, I really didn't mean to be like this. It's just... I don't know. T-today just has an unfortunate date. It's... just something from my past.'

He sat up straight and started talking, his voice shaking a little: 'I'm not sure why it's still haunting me. I thought things would be better after a year.' He then turned to Sicheng and finally looked at him, a hint of guilt was seen in his eyes: 'I'm sorry. I don't want to bother you. I just started talking and I just... I don't know.'
