Once upon a time or something like that

Once upon a time, there was a maiden who caused a civil war.

Hey! Just because a girl accidentally assassinates the wrong person, that doesn't mean you can blame her for that!

Who's telling the story here?

So sorry. Do go on.

She took an assignment to assassinate a troublesome prince. But hit the wrong person.

It's not my fault that he had a twin brother.

As I was saying, she hit the wrong person who, coincidentally, was about to assassinate a powerful witch. The Witch was eternally gratefu-

More like mortally embarrassed.

Eternally grateful. And, to pay her life debt, blessed the maiden with the gift of immortality.

Sorry did you say blessed? I think you meant cursed. She really needs to up her gift giving game. Like who would want to be stuck on earth forever. Modern life is so boring. Except for coffee. That stuff's a blessing. Could've done with some of that 800 years ago.

I'm just going to ignore you now.

How rude.

The Prince's family personally took offence at the-

Such a surprise.

At the killing and attacked the Maiden's family. Each side drew the support of-

Other families yes. And then there was a war. Blah blah blah. When can we get to the exciting bit?

What's the point of hiring a narrator if you're not actually going to let me speak?

Uhhhh Dramatic Tension? Exposition? Improvisation? Other stuff that I could make up?

I can give in my notice if you want.

Oh no carry on. I'm just dying to hear about how my dastardly family recruited allies.

Then the maiden's dastardly family recruited allies.

If you could see my face, I would be sticking my tongue out at you.

Delightful.

Anyway, then I abandoned my family, left with my immortality and disappeared off the face of the earth.

What a charming queen you would've made.

Go away.

With pleasure.

Well, I guess I didn't exactly disappear. My charming mother sent men after me for a while, but they stopped coming after about 40 years. Or something like that.

When you have all eternity to do whatever, you kinda forget trivial things like that.

So then I did some shady stuff in Africa and Asia for a bit. Learned some magic, brushed up my fighting skills, pretended I was a mystical goddess.

That was fun.

But now I'm in America. Taking random jobs and drinking coffee.

Holy Morgana I love coffee.

You're getting off topic.

I thought you were leaving.

Why don't you just get to the exciting bit.

Rude. Using my own words against me as well.

But fine.
