Snowy weather
A/N: This is the first thing that I've ever published, so don't judge if it's terrible! Also, background info on this oneshot; Tyler and Troye live in Michigan and it's the beginning of winter. Tyler asked Troye on a date a few days ago.
Troye's POV
"Troye, don't worry! You look great!" My sister, Sage, says exasperated for the hundredth time this evening. I huffed and rolled my eyes, she didn't seem to understand how big of a deal this was. My best friend Tyler, who I'd had a crush on for a long time, had asked me out the other day. Needless to say, I had been overjoyed and spent hours getting ready and at least an hour making sure every hair of my chocolate brown quiff was on point.
I heard a car door slam and the doorbell rang soon after. I leapt out of my room and bounced down the stairs to greet him. My mom opened the door to reveal Tyler looking more attractive than ever. His lilac quiff was perfect and had a light dusting of tiny snowflakes covering it. Only then did I notice that it was snowing outside, the first of the year!
"Ok guys! Have fun, but not too much!" My mom winked at me and I felt my cheeks heat up, "Make sure you drive carefully in that snow!" Tyler assured her that he would and then linked our arms.
"Shall we?" He asks, looking at me.
"We shall!" And together we skip to the car.
As we get settled in the car I begin to wonder where we're going, "Hey Ty, where are we going? You never mentioned."
"You'll see." He replies, never taking his eyes off the road.
~Time Skip to when they arrive~
"Tillyyy, are we almost there?" I whined, using the nickname I made up when we were kids.
"As a matter of fact, we are!" He said excitedly as he pulled in and parked. I squinted and peered through the snow to see where "here" is, I began to make out a sign that said "Bella Piatti" (A/N: this is a real place, I looked it up) my favorite Italian place.
"Oh my god! Tilly! This is too expensive!" I shrieked. He just grinned at me and shook his head, amused by my child-like behavior.
"C'mon, we have reservations for six!" He says excitedly while jumping out of the car, as soon as I'm out of the car and the door is closed he grabs my hand and makes a run for the door. The butterflies tingling in my stomach made my heart beat faster than the running did.
I must've been stuck in my thoughts for awhile because all of a sudden I hear Tyler say, "Six o'clock reservation under "Oakley" for two." to the man at the podium. He scans his list and then nods, grabs two menus and heads into the dining area. After a short walk to the far corner of the room, he motions to the table and tells us that our server will be there shortly.
We both glance over our menus and I decide on the chicken fettuccine and Tyler goes for the eggplant parmigiana. Our server comes and takes our drink and food orders and brings us some delicious warm bread. We talk while nibbling on the bread both get very passionate, I love the way his eyes sparkle and brighten when he's passionate about something.
We finally get our food and we both practically moaned at how good it was. We barely spoke while we had our food because we couldn't stop eating it! It was the most amazing date I've ever had, not that I have much to compare it to, but it was perfect in every way. When we finished he paid the bill and grabbed my hand as he stood up, we walked out with interlocked hands and matching grins painted on our faces.
The ride home was filled with meaningless babble and comfortable silences in between. When we got home he pulled up near the streetlight in front of my house. On the way home it had started to snow again and huge flakes were dancing down and lightly coming to rest on the ground. With a reluctant sigh and a groan of protest I got out of his car. I stepped under the light and saw him walking towards me, he stopped right in front of me. Before I could say anything, he interrupted me.
"I've wanted to do this for so long," he says longingly, then he places his hands gently on my hips and places his soft, velvety lips to mine. I feel sparks dance across our lips and I move my hands to the back of his neck as I begin to deepen the kiss. I feel the sharp, cold pin pricks of snow hitting the side of my face as we kiss, surrounded by swirling snow under the spotlight of the streetlight. But all too soon he breaks away before it gets heated. He looks over my shoulder and busts out laughing, I turn around, annoyed, to see my entire family seated at the window staring at us with jaws dropped. I shoot them a dirty look then begin laughing just as hard as Tyler is right in front of me.
"Maybe I should go say hello," he says thoughtfully before purposefully walking to the front door of my house and letting himself in. I sighed before calling for him to wait up and jogging to my house to be interrogated by my family.
