3rd POV because Hiccup's is too hard

When someone loses a life it is easy to forget certain things. But the day after the death Hiccup realized what was wrong. There were no animal bones under the tree.

Now, let me explain everything to that weirded out face of yours. The Vikings have gotten used to Percy hunting and all the things that came out of it. That included him rubbing two sticks together like he had gone crazy, random shots of boiling water to the sky, random birds falling out of the sky and Percy leaving bones under a tree that he carved the letter P into. Though to the Vikings, it would look like a rounded letter H.

But, there were no bones under the tree today. No bones meant that Percy, who had now been dubbed with the species name Gilled Bronze Belly, hadn't come back. It's been two days. If you haven't put the two and two together like Hiccup has, well, I'll just tell you the answer. He's missing.

Hiccup sighed. He really didn't need more things on his plate with the girl's body disappearing and one of the dragons having burnt another hut down.

Still, he went off to set up a search party and ask Astrid if Stormfly could track Percy.

Now let's see what Percy is up too.

He's still sleeping. Not quite starving. The rock rain was still going. I don't know how it hasn't turned into a sinkhole. But it is lessening.

Now back to Hiccup. Cause nothing noteworthy is happening on Percy's side.

Hiccup, Astrid and Toothless were following Stormfly who was sniffing out Percy's scent. It hadn't rained in the past two days which was lucky for them. If it did rain it would have been harder to find Percy.

Hiccup and Astrid soon discovered that Percy was wandering aimlessly. They went in a loopy path of circles and sudden turns. After what should be a 10-minute search turning into a 30-minute search they were lead to the cave. Where Stormfly promptly sat on in front of.

"So this is where the Gilled Bronze Belly is?" Hiccup looked at the endless pitfall which wasn't endless.

Toothless shot a plasma bolt into the cave, lighting it up for the group to see. The seemingly bottomless cave was not as deadly and deep as it seemed as it only went 5 meters down before sloping downwards.

Hiccup nodded to Astrid who then nodded back to him as if they were sending a telepathic message. Hiccup took out a torch, holding it at Toothless so he can light it. Why he had a torch? Hiccup is smart and knows that searches may take a while.

Now with a torch-lit Astrid and Hiccup hop onto their dragons and plunge into the darkness of the cave.

Percy's POV

How long have I been here? I can't really tell time down here as not much sunlight gets down. I did see a flash of light a few seconds ago but that triggered some more rocks to fall. I've been sleeping quite a lot though. I can tell because after closing my eyes and opening them the rock rain had basically stopped. Only a few pebbles and a couple of giant boulders kept falling.

I sighed. I was hungry. Not really tired but I was getting sick of all this darkness. The feeling of water around was reassuring but I was starting to get worried about all the rock falling. I had to move out of the crevice because the ground layer was getting higher and dodging rocks is getting tiring even with the energy boost the water gives me.

...

But was it just me or was the water getting darker?

I tilted my head upwards to find a giant shape barreling towards me.

Instinctively I tried to swim out of the way. Tried.

The boulder smashed down, landing on my inconveniently long tail. I could feel some of the sails that lined the tail rip before immediately healing up.

I was alive and still breathing but the minus was I couldn't move. I swatted away the rocks that fell down, not really caring if they injured me as the water would heal me right up. Then the Fates decided I wasn't having a hard enough time. So they sent another boulder.

Though I couldn't really move, I tried to pivot around the point where my tail got squashed. Easier said than done. Despite having dragon strength, I couldn't move the rock. Was I just super weak? Or was the rock magically heavy?

I felt the weight of the rock crash down on the right side of his body. It still hurt a lot, despite the water healing him. It must be on around the middle of his body as he could barely breathe. Percy tried to lean to one side to roll off the stone to realize he could barely move at all! Maybe this is a sign he should really train a bit more.
