It's been a month since the day in the car with Tony. I've gotten a job in a cafe as a waitress. This is only a temporary job until the baby comes along. I like it. It's a break from all the drama in my life. There's even a girl here, Aria, that I'm becoming friends with.

Vic says it's good for me. He says I'm happier since starting my job. That's a lie. I'm happier because I know I can go to Tony. That day when I drove. I still have no clue where I went.  But he held me. He told me everything was going to be alright. And he said that I could go to him if I needed.

I hadn't talked to him again. It wasn't technically cheating but I knew if Vic caught me that's what he would accuse me of. So I hadn't went back to Tony. But it made me feel better knowing I could.

It was a Wednesday afternoon and I was working my shift. Four men walked into the restaurant and I was thinking it was just another group of drunks like we get everyday. I greeted them with my head down.

"Welcome to Izzy's Diner. Booth or table?" I mumbled grabbing menus. I heard a familiar laugh and looked up. Standing in front of me was Vic, Tony, Mike and Jaime. My face grew hot as I realized how zombie like I looked.

"Booth if possible," Vic said leaning in to give me a quick peck on my cheek. I lead them to a booth and took their orders. I disappeared into the kitchen but I could still make out the bands words.

"Vic, that's your baby she's carrying. You can't just leave for tour right away." That was Mike.

"It's not going to be right away. I said after it's born. Wait a couple weeks to make sure the baby and Kat are stable then leave. Mike, we have fans that were counting on that tour. We can't postpone it forever." My vision became blurry as tears accumilated in my eyes. I knew that Vic would have to go on tours and record for weeks but I wasn't thinking he would do it so soon after the baby was born.

I sat there in the kitchen with my hand over my mouth muffling the sobs as I cooked the burgers. Then someone entered the room. I tried wiping away my tears but I knew my eyes would be swollen and red. I turned around prepared for my boss to scold me but it was only Aria.

The moment she saw me she engulfed me in a hug making me cry even more. We stood there like that until someone else entered the kitchen. It was Tony.

"I'm sorry. Did I interrupt something? I was just checking on our food," He apologized. I pulled away.

"Tony can I talk to you?" I needed to ask him about Vic. He nodded and I led him out the back door because if I could hear them from the kitchen they could hear me. When I was outside I pulled out a cigarette and took a long drag before I began speaking.

"I heard you guys talking," I told him.

"That's not good for the baby," Tony said gesturing to the cigarette.

"You know what, I don't care. Baby be damned. Vic's going to leave isn't he?" I asked, suddenly angry.

Tony looked down at his feet before replying, " I think he might. He's talked to me a couple times about how he can't have a baby. And all he does is run. I'm so sorry Kat." A lump formed in my throat.

"You know what," I took another drag, "I don't care. Vic be damned as well as his baby." I threw the cigarette butt down and put it out with my shoe before once again disappearing inside.
