Chapter 10

April 1, 2014
Tuesday

I danced around my room listening to 'Starships' by Nicki Manaj on my speakers.
" Bravo!" Lexi says clapping. I laugh.
" What are you doing!" I say pausing my music.
" Can I dance?" She smiles with puppy dog eyes.
" Okay. What song?" I ask.
" Shake it off." She says. I start playing 'Shake It Off' by Taylor Swift. We dance and laugh at each other. Me and Lexi were singing at the top of our lungs. More like screaming the lyrics. I felt someone grab my waist. I spun around and seen Mason.
" Holy shit, Mason!" I screamed. He was laughing.
" Imma go." Lexi walks out of my bedroom. Me and Mason danced until the song was over and then we stopped dancing. I plopped on my bed and scrolled through my instgram. I seen a picture of me. I scrolled back up and found the picture. Mason had posted it. The caption said: I will miss you. You will always be my favorite no matter what happens. I love you to the moon and back.
" Thanks." I smile as Mason crawled up next to me. He seen what I was looking at.
" Your welcome." He kisses my forehead. So he was moving away. Now I am believing him.
" Where are you moving to?" I ask him.
" Kansas City." Hid smile fades.
" That is like three hours away!"
" I know." He sighs.

" You should stay for dinner." I tell Mason as we head downstairs.
" Okay." He smiles. We sit at the table and my mom sets the tacos in the middle. I grabbed a taco and laid it on my plate. Mason did the same. I grabbed some meat and lettuce. I didn't like cheese on my tacos, I liked ketchup. I grabbed the ketchup out of the fridge and squirted some on my taco.
" Ewwhh." Mason says laughing. I make a face.
" Hi Mason." My mom smiles.
" Hi." Mason replies.

After dinner Mason left and I went upstairs to take a shower. I got into the shower warm water trickling down my back. I kept thinking about when the end of the month came and Mason would leave. I couldn't stop thinking of it.
When I got out of the shower I got dressed and crawled into bed.

Thursday
Mason rushes up to me when I get out of Lexi's car.
" London, There was a um change of plans." He hugs me tight.
" What?" I say. He looked worried.
" Um change of plans, were moving Monday." He hugs me tighter. No this cannot be happening. First my dad dies, and now this. I didn't say anything. I was upset. I wasn't upset at Mason, I was upset that he was leaving. I squeezed him tight. " We will text." He tells me.
" That isn't good enough." I mumble burying my face into the side of his jacket.
" Since we don't have school tomorrow, we could go do something." He says rubbing my back.
" Wutchu wanna do." I ask.
" Hm. We should go rollerskating." He says.
" Okay!" I wipe away my tears.
