Dedicated to Literary Figures

As I inclined to the bend,
In the track, during my morning stroll.
I came across a dusky image of a manlike figure.
I shouted, "Who's there?
A huge laughter, reverberated,
And came the voice, following.

"I Oedipus whom all men call the Great."**
O Oedipus, you, the kid with swollen feet?

He replied,

"Yes, I had swollen feet but,
You have Oedipus of your land
with swollen wit."

You were fated to sleep with your mother.
"Yes, I did but you all sleep with your mother too, the motherland." You are the same as I."

You murdered your father, the unlucky guy.
"You murdered your father too, the father of the nation.
But it was I who faced the truth.
With courage and patience.
I asked for the inquiry."

But you, Oedipus, blinded yourself.
"Yes, I did so but I didn't lose insight
like you.
I plagued and then indemnified.
Go and ask your Oedipus,
Solve the riddle and compensate,
As I did, If he is a real hero."

With these words, he flashed and I remained
With my awestricken face.
