The sun lowered itself to the horizon of the forest as I finished practicing my aim, well mostly venting out my frustration. I could only hear the chirping of birds and crickets along with the crashing of the wind against the hill for miles. It was unusually quiet. Unusual for such a sunny day like today.
I glanced around, noticing the ink splats I made, I'm much more accurate with practicing but today I felt my heart ache. When it came to any activity I'm always energetic but lately I have been feeling a hole in my heart. I wondered about Rider and what he's been up to, my heart ached thinking of him, a soft smile spread across my face. I looked back towards the trees glad there were little to no clouds out to disrupt the beauty of the colors in the sky. I had forgotten about the dualies in my hands, and didn't realize how late it was getting as tired as I was I didn't want to go back, I didn't want to see Rider or anyone else I just wanted to be alone I don't think anyone would realize I was gone for a few hours anyway. Just then I heard something snap I whipped around getting ready to fight off whoever or whatever was coming till I saw him. He stood tall and noticed his long coat and yellow color. He looked like he was also training as he looked tired and covered in ink. He looked in my direction and I tried to hide but he already saw me. Either way, his voice was as calming and charming as ever. "Who are you?" I looked towards him, usually I am always energetic and happy to meet and greet others but when I look at him I feel this unusual anxiety like I've been caught doing something. I stutter and answer "I'm Gloves, who are you and what are you doing out here?" He smiles a little and I felt this feeling in my heart "well I could ask you the same thing but seeing from all this ink you must be upset about something." I looked around and noticed I really did a number on the make shift dummies before I spoke he replied "I'm making my way back to the city if you would like to join me it's getting rather late and it would be safer to travel together, I didn't expect to find someone out here" he turned and walked but looked back to see it I was going to follow. I quickly made my way to him and I felt this flustered feeling. I should be more caution with who I talk to but seeing the area getting darker I thought it would be safer and if he tried any funny business I can kick his ass. We collected all of our gear together, then began walking back to back to the city. Neither of us realized how far we were, because we walked for about an hour and were still far from the city lights. My legs felt heavy as lead, and glancing at him he never told me his name now that I realized it and how handsome he was and I felt my face heat up thinking about him "Gloves get it together you just met this guy" I whispered as I shook my head then I noticed the way he was walking he must have felt the same way, if not worse. "Do you wanna rest here for tonight, and walk the rest of the way in the morning?" I asked, concerned. He stopped and turned around. He looked a bit tired and nodded. We set our stuff down, and I gathered up logs and sticks from around the area. I set them into a small pile, dragging a log over for him and I to sit on. I picked up a couple of sticks, sat down next to the pile of sticks, and in a couple of minutes I sparked up a fire. I sat down next to him. He looked at the fire "where did you learn that?" He asked I blushed and replied "I spend a lot of time out here but once I was out here too long and ended up having to camp, it was the worse but being out here is so peaceful. I made the best of that night and since then I tend to camp out here a lot" he smiled softly while staring at the fire. "My name is Emperor sorry for not properly introducing myself" I looked up at him and smiled.
It was quiet, dark, and cold. The warmth of the fire didn't help much, except to light up the area. Glancing at Emperor he was already beginning to doze off. His eyes looked heavy, and he looked like he was holding himself up. But even slumped over, I still had to look up at him to look him in the eyes. I scooted closer to him, feeling my face heat up more than the fire could manage. Emperor's features were sharp yet calm, and cute. I shook my head. Cute... I just met him, why is that the word that comes to mind? Emperor glanced back at me. I almost thought I was dreaming when he suddenly leaned onto me. I didn't move. However, I did feel different. His body felt like a heater. He wrapped one arm around me, and I finally felt it was okay to lean into him. Usually I wouldn't let anyone yet someone I barely met get close to me, but at the moment, I felt as though I was in heaven. I could slightly hear the beat of his heart as I dug my head into his chest. I closed my eyes, the warmth of his body allowing me to relax. Maybe it was wrong, but in the moment, I realized that I may have feelings for him. This guy I barely met, I felt butterflies thinking about it. Thinking about just the two of us sitting here, all alone. Something about it just felt so right. It didn't take too long for me to doze off in his embrace.
