“So, can we have some girl talk? I've heard some rumors and I simply must know if they're true. No papers, no Rita Skeeter, just between the four of us.” Pansy says from her seat beside Ginny.
“Um Pansy. This might have slipped your mind but I'm not a girl.” Harry says from next to me.
“If the rumors are true, you might as well be.” The Slytherin girl says with a grin. Like most of us, Pansy is no longer like she was in school. In school she was cruel and vindictive like most of the Slytherins but now all I can see is a sweet, funny girl who would do anything for Ginny.
“And what rumors would those be?” Harry asks her with a sigh.
“Ones that involve you and Draco.” She says grinning.
“And what do these rumors say we were doing?” He asks, obviously humoring her.
“They say that your evening out the other night looked suspiciously like a date.” Ginny starts laughing at this.
“Harry and Malfoy? I can't see it.” Ginny says, shaking her head.
“How is that any more ludicrous than a Weasley and a Slytherin?” I ask him looking pointedly at their intertwined fingers. Ginny looks thoughtful for a time before nodding.
“That's true.” She says before turning to Harry. “So what are your thoughts on these rumors?”
“It was the worst date I have ever been on.” He says honestly. He already told me about it.
“Really? Then it must have been bad because we had some very terrible dates.” Ginny says. Harry looks offended as she says this but then shrugs.
“Please tell me he didn't use the fancy, fancy, flaunt date on you.” Pansy says with a groan.
“Fancy, fancy, flaunt?” I question.
“Fancy restaurant, fancy food, flaunt the money.” She explains. Harry and I both start nodding.
“That sounds about right.” He tells her.
“Seriously! How many times do I have to tell him that won't work.” She says exasperated. “That's his ‘I'm scared they're not going to like the real me so I'll flash my money’ date.”
“That's a horrible idea unless he wants a sugar baby.” I say, shaking my head.
“A what?” Pansy asks in horror.
“It's a Muggle term. The younger recipient, usually female or a bottom, of interest from a sugar daddy or sugar mama, especially financial and romantic in an intergenerational relationship.” I recite from memory.
“So basically prostitution.” Ginny says.
“Not exactly but it has been compared to it.” I tell her.
“I'm so going to smack some sense into that boy.” Pansy says, shaking her head.
“I'm surprised you aren't grilling me about my evening.” I tell her.
“Your evening? What was so spectacular about your evening?” Pansy asks, latching on to that bit of information.
“So you didn't hear?” I ask, pretending to be surprised. I know Lucius kept the paparazzi as far away from us as possible. “Then again we did spend the evening out of the country.”
“You went on a date? Out of the country? I'm so happy for you, for moving on.” Ginny says with a squeal.
“Why should I have heard of it? Who was it?” Pansy asks, leaning forward on the edge of her seat.
“Promise not to tell?” I ask and they both nod eagerly. “Lucius.”
“Lucius Malfoy? Draco Malfoy's father?” Ginny asks wide eyed.
“Where did he take you? Was it fabulous?” Pansy questions.
“Yes. He took me to Paris, France. Did you know they have a vacation home there? We went to the Louvre and several other museums then we went and ate.” I tell them.
“Only you would focus on the museums.” Ginny says laughing. “Any other girl would be shopping.”
“He also said so many sweet things to me in French.” I tell them.
“Does he know you're fluent in French?” Ginny asks, chuckling.
“He does now.” I laugh.
“Was it all wonderful?” Pansy asks.
“There was only one glitch and it wasn't Lucius's fault.” I say and explain the guy attacking me.
“Oh dear are you alright?” Pansy asks as Ginny comes around and gives me a big hug.
“I'm fine now. I was just a bit shaken up then.” I tell the two girls.
“Will you go on another date?” Pansy asks.
“He has to ask first.” I say with a chuckle.
“Well if he does would you?” She pushes.
“Probably.” I reply.
“Good. You got lucky with this one. He's a great guy. He's good looking for his age too.” Pansy says grinning.
“Pansy.” Her girlfriend says, smacking her.
