I won't ever forget the day that I saw my uncle assume the throne of Ariadia and kill our parents. It was very heartbreaking see someone you trusted, kill the ones you love.
"Hurry up Aaliyah!" Amelia, my second oldest sister shouted, while I was putting some clothes in the baggage as fast as possible. "We need to get out of here! Who knows what this monster will do?" she said in a lower tone, entering the room and helping me. I knew that if I said something, I would probably start crying, so I kept quiet all the time, wishing that what was happening was just a horrible nightmare, and that I would wake up, and see my mom and my dad taking care of me. "I-I can't believe this is really happening..." Amelia said, her voice was cracking. "Do you think we should report him?" she asked looking at me. Her eyes were red and I couldn't tell her emotions. Was she angry, or sad? I couldn't tell. "Amelia, I-I really don't know." I answered her. "He's technically the king of Ariadia now. We don't have any power..." I said remembering the days that my family and his family were happy living all together in the castle. But he betrayed us. Just because he wanted the power. He killed his own brother, and then his sister-in-law. "But Aaliyah!" Amelia woke me up. "WE" she started, pointing at us. "We have the royal blood! We are the true royal family and-" I interrupt her. "But now we need to forget it and start to live a new life." I said while going to the bathroom that I had in my room, and changing my dress with lots of pearls to a black jeans with a with t-shirt. My jewelry, I replaced with an old cheap necklace. The only thing that I kept was a necklace with an "A" that represented our kingdom.
We put our black jackets on and we went downstairs to find Ariana, Audrey and Abigail. When we found them, Ariana was crying and Abigail was hugging her, while Audrey's pale face was observing the palace. Lots of bloody swords on the floor, and lots of dead guards on the floor. I would be always thankful to them. They saved our lives, and tried to save our parents'. In the end of the Great Room, next to the gigantic windows, there was the 7 thrones. Without my consent, my eyes were stuck at the King's and Queen's throne. I gasped when I saw their bodies. My whole body suddenly got weak. My legs were trembling. Hot tears were running down my face, and my heartbeat was accelerated.
"Let's go, Aaliyah we need to go somewhere safe." Abigail said gently. "I-I can't Abby." I said, feeling my throat hurt. "I want my parents back!" I said a little bit louder. I felt weak, and seconds after my knees were on the floor. "Calm down Aaliyah, okay? You still have us! We are together in this..." Audrey said, hugging me.
I just couldn't leave that place. I lived for 16 in years in there, and I wasn't prepared to just leave. I didn't actually left the palace for 16 years. It was a whole new experience.
But, something inside me, said that I would comeback to that place soon. And I hoped so.
