Cindy sure gets along with kids well, that Sultan and Aaliyah haven't ceased laughing their ass off since they got here.
She even watched their silly toons with them on my tab, making them laugh at intervals whenever she makes her googly eyes.
"Hope you're OK?, and you're sure you don't want one of these?".
Cindy asks between laughter, offering me a piece of oreo for the countless time.
"Sure, I'm fine thanks", I said giving a toothless smile.
"Hmm, you've been playing that game since you got here"...
She sits up on her back, showing interest. A bubbly smile dancing on her lips and suddenly stands from the sofa, rushing towards me.
"Come, lemme show you something"
She grabs me by the wrist and even though I stiffened my body, her hold was too tight and she succeeded in making me come with her to one of the rooms.
It isn't so big, but it totally looks like one of those you see in movies.
Classy with one part heavily decorated purple ish and the other complete dark grey decors and polish on the wall.
Which also reeks of plush fragrance, one of the finest air freshener I've probably ever smelt.
The room seems like two different worlds apart, with the two different taste in wall polish and decorations.
Two mid sized bed stood on each side of the room, and one is flooded with different sized and colored teddy bears.
Between the beds lies a medium sized wooden reading table, with a small study lamp and a portable Hp laptop on it.
A frame of Cindy hung on the purplish wall, with love-shaped flower and stickers around it.
Posters of Billie Eiish, Michael Jackson and few other celebrities, sticks to the grey part of the room, which I guess should be Chloe's since the part of the room is dominated by dark colors.
A slender mirror frame rested on the wall, beside a wooden polished shoe rack, pointing at both beds with many other things well laid around the room.
"Wow, Cindy this place is really nice", I remarked, nodding my head in agreement.
She gives a radiant smile, and turns to bring something from the drawer.
She turns back at me, holding a large picture album.
"I want to show you our moms throwback pictures", she freaks, broadly grinning from ear to ear and flips the album open.
"Wait is this....",
I ask, sticking my finger at the funny looking kid in the picture, her hair was tied with a pink ribbon in two piggy tail with both lower and upper incisors missing, while she confidently grins in the picture.
Her small frame donned in a white long sleeved top, underneath a baggy jean suspender, with pink rain boots.
"The dressing's funny as heck!..
.. Who on earth dressed her up!" My subconscious teases, trying to hold the laughter brooding in me.
"Chloe!..
.. Yes!, see how funny she looks", Cindy compliments.
"She so hates this picture, and would skin me alive if she knows I have it"
Cindy added, amid loud laughter which I also joined in.
The collection of throwbacks in the album, made us laugh uncontrollably, we totally forgot about the kids.
A loud trashing sound from the sitting room rings a bell in our heads, intruding the moment and we instantly rushed to the sitting room.
"What!", Cindy screamed, the shock on her face was unhidden, at the sight of loose shards over the place.
"What on earth have you done", I bark at sultan who meekly took steps back from the shards, looking all sweaty and startled.
I tiptoed to pick the wiggling fish on the floor, the other was probably dead since it laid stiffly on the floor.
"What the F**k, happened here?!"
The door suddenly flings open, and a deep baritone I've gotten quite acquainted with barks.
I raise my head from his fist which tightly clutched to redness to his bloodshot eyes.
Kuku kii me...
( kill me instead )...He moves unsteadily into the room, his gaze locked on the glass shards on the floor.
His gaze strucks on me, the cloud of tears rising in his eyes visible enoug, I could see it hitting on his eye walls.
His eyes strays to the dying fish in my hold and he suddenly jerks his head up to look at me.
First teardrop rolls down his cheek and his eyes shot huge daggers at me.
The wiggly movement of his fist send shivers down my spine and there's a sudden adrenaline rush in him, which thrusts him towards me with his hand fisted in a punch.
The fish rigorously wiggles and slips from my grip. My eyes instantly shut in horror, while my weak knees stiffens and await his crushing blow on my face.
One which never came.
I could sense someone sliding right at my front, and shadowing me with their body.
My eyes slowly part to see Cindy shading me with her body, her arms widely spread to cover me.
Tony raises his fisted arm in a punch and I shut my eyes halfway, terrified at his threat.
My eyes splits open after an extremely loud bang of the door, sending Cindy to the bare floor.
"Wha-wat on earth was that? "
(Inner voice)."Are you ok? "
I asked Cindy who looks startled but repeatedly heave sighs in relief.
A noisy yell from the room, interrupts and we both turned to look.
"Is he Ok? ", I stiffly mumble still in fear.
"One minute he's crying, the other he's burning with rage", I buttress.
Sultan and Aaliyah both burst into an ear- screeching wail and my mind strides back to their presence.
I hurried towards where they both stood, holding each others hands and looking so terrified.
"Oh no, it's ok...
... Shush, don't cry", Cindy comforts Sultan before I did and I turn to do same with Aaliyah.
After minutes of pacifying, they both fell sound asleep.
"Please help me with Aaliyah I think is time we head back", I asked Cindy who instantly nods back with a "sure" and we immediately left from their apartment to ours.
"Thanks a lot Cindy, sincerely appreciate everything you did today and I'm deeply sorry for what happened, really sorry".
I apologise to her, while she smiled and yanks her hand it was OK.
"Oh, you're hurt! ", I exclaim, seeing the oozing scratch on her hand.
"Please sit, while I go grab the aid box", I insist and dash into the room. I came back to see she's left already.
