Fiery's POV

It was a late spring afternoon. I was on a walk when I found her, laying in the leaves. She was a pretty girl, looking about my age. Her green hair was spread out beneath her, her pale skin made her appear to glow.

She was fast asleep, her chest occasionally rising and falling with her steady breathing. When I first laid my eyes upon her, I thought she was dead. For a moment, I had no idea what to do. It isn't often that one finds another unconscious on the woodland floor!

I decided to bring her back to my cabin, not for any nefarious reasons, but because I felt a couch would be more comforting then the sturdy ground. She was surprisingly light, or perhaps I was just stronger then I initially thought. I carried her all the way through the forest path until a smoking chimney came into view. I suppose I had forgotten to tame the fire again. When I walked into the familiar foyer, I was met with a strong whiff of hot air.

I had always liked the hot, even if uncomfortable at times, strangely comforting. Humidity felt like an embrace, and summer nights with blazing flames along good company were to be envied. I have lived in isolation most my life, though I consider myself quite the extrovert.

I gently set the girl on my living room couch and stretched my arms to the ceiling. I let out a slight yawn. The sun was just beginning to set, sending golden rays across my wooden floors. I wondered when she would awaken, and how she would react, but I never imagined that the girl on the forest floor would change my life.

I lazily rolled out of bed, rubbing my neck. I had always intended to get a better mattress, only I never got around to it. As I sluggishly made my way down the stairs, I remembered the girl I had taken in. Feeling more awake, I rushed to the living room to see her still upon the couch.

She was asleep, though her boots and jacket were neatly place on the floor next to the couch. She had also pulled a throw blanket around herself. Suddenly, my heart started pounding. I didn't know what to do.

"Just ignore her," I thought "Act natural."

I went and did my normal morning routine, my mind never straying from the girl. Who was she? What was her story? Why was she in the woods? I tried to piece everything together in my mind, though there were always questions and holes in my theories.

Eventually, I found myself impatiently drinking coffee in my kitchen. My legs were bouncing rapidly, my breathing fast. My lips quivered as I attempted to calm myself.

There was a breeze that ruffled the trees that was able to get to me. I stopped shaking, and actually smiled lightly to myself as I gazed out the window. It was a beautiful morning.

I froze when I heard a noise. I looked to the doorframe where the girl stood, and gulped.

"You- you're awake." I managed, barely breathing, barely thinking. She smiled lightly, fiddling with her hair.

"I thank you for your hospitality but," she stopped, a sad look crossed her face "I have to go." For a moment I didn't know what to think. I didn't know what part of me wanted her to stay. I didn't know why I wanted to spend summer nights gazing at the stars, or spring mornings gathering fresh flowers with her. She was so beautiful.

"Of course." I said quietly forcing a smile. "I've barely said two words to her, why am I feeling this way?" I pondered.

"Is- is it all right if I come back?" I looked over to her with wide eyes, and felt a strange sense of relief. She looked me in the eyes, they were green like her hair. Such a wonderful color, like a meadow of tall grass slowly reaching the summer pines.

"You are always welcome here." I tried to say as to not sound like a total creep, but as a grateful friend. Her smile widened and her eyes sparkled.

"Thank you."

Okay so this is a little mini series I will be doing! It is actually for a friend (you know who you are) and I am super excited for it! I will not post this as much as my main series, and there will honestly only be a few chapters. In case you haven't gotten it yet, this is a Fireafy fic from the YouTube show Battle for Dream Island. I suggest you check it out if you haven't all ready!

Best Regards,
Agatha Liz
