I looked around and everyone was laughing and having a good time, just like it used to be, but I couldn't get Stan off my mind, something didn't feel right.
"Mike why did you bring us here"
He paused for a minute then began.
"IT might have changed, just like it changed us, but we didn't stop it, IT just bounced back"
He talked about our oath we made when we were kids. Now I had felt strange, I looked down at my hand to where Bill had carved a promise in my palm and closed my hand tightly.
Nobody said much, just heavy breathing.
"Well that shit got dark fast" Richie broke in.
I couldn't help but laugh, but when I did I quickly covered it with a cough.
"Shut up Richie" I replied.
"You never did change" Eddie said to me while unraveling a fortune cookie.
"My fortune cookie just says 'could'"
I didn't think they knew how to do fortunes because any other time it would have said a whole phrase.
"Can you hand that over here" Bill was talking to Richie.
All of a sudden everyone was taking out one worded fortunes and handing them to Bill. He seemed to be trying to crack a code.
The whole gang got up helping Bill solve the 'code' as for Beverly and I sat and watched.
Everyone was yelling and everything seemed to be so fast that I grabbed Bev's hand tightly.
"Are you okay Em?" she asked me in a whispers.
"This is just a lot, I don't know if I can handle it"
"It's gonna be okay we will get through this together"
I smiled up at her with a comfortable state until she unraveled her cookie and passed it in the middle.
"Why does it say Stanley" someone mentioned.
I was shaky, tears down my face, the same as Bev.
and then the table shook. I quickly stood up backing away. The cookies on the table began to pop up and have weird creature burst out.
"What the fuck is that man" Richie questioned calmly yet terrified.
Just then a baby spider thing came running towards me, and I started to trip while moving backwards, but now until he caught me: Richie.
I looked up into his eyes while Mike smashes the creature.
"I know this isn't a great time Em" he trailed
"Yeah it isn't Rich, so save it" Eddie screamed.
He stood me back up as we watched the horror unfold in front of us.
"This is gonna be a long fucking vacation" I said as everyone looked at me with a 'not good time' face.
