"I have to go off on a business trip tomorrow"
I could not believe my ears, I haven't left my dad since my mom passed away. My dad always had to work 2 jobs to support both of us, I had a great dad, we might not have had much but I could always count on him to make me smile, not in this moment though. "What time do you leave tomorrow dad?"
" I have to leave at 4 tomorrow afternoon, I am really sorry I didn't tell you sooner but I will be getting paid $29 an hour"
"It's ok lets just spend some time together while we can"
"Sounds like a plan to me"
THE NEXT MORNING
I woke up to my dad yelling "Catarina Nicole Denan come on you are going to be late" I did what he said after all this was my last day with him for a while.
I finally got to school and met Kimberly by the auditorium we met there every day
"Morning Kimmy Bear"
"Morning Cat"
"I need to tell you something"
"Go ahead girl spit it out"
"My dad has to do away on business he is leaving today"
"WHAT, why did you not tell me sooner you can always talk to me"
"I didn't know until last night"
"That really sucks and I am really sorry, but who are you going to stay with since your dad will be gone"
I cried a tiny bit, only one tear though and hid it pretty well.
"My dad said some of his close friends from high school"
"Oh ok I get it now"
We walked in to homeroom and my teacher walked up to me and said "Cat you are no longer in this homeroom"
"What, why?"
"I do not know but you are in Mrs.Phelps now"
As if my day couldn't get worse.
