                                        Chloe
The next month was my own form of torture. I stayed in the apartment and started falling behind on many of my college courses. My mother was really worried about me and even offered to start taking me to therapy sessions. I declined, but I couldn't deny that it seemed like I needed them. To make things even worse about two weeks after I found out that Will loved me, I received a knock on my door.
Even though it was only two in the afternoon, I was in my pajamas at the time. I had been sleeping for about two weeks straight, yet I just couldn't shake the feeling of always being tired. The knock woke me up from my endless sleep and I heard my mother rush to answer it. I listened to what she said to the afternoon knocker,"Hello! How can I help you?"She sounded way too perky, like she usually did when talking to our hunky mailman.
"Hi. Does Chloe live here?"My heart almost stopped; it was Will.
"Um... yes, but she's probably sleeping right now. She hasn't been feeling well lately."
He sounded sad which angered me. He did this to me! He had no right to be sad! He said,"Oh. Well would you mind maybe telling her it's Will? Please tell her I need to talk to her and I'm sorry."
I couldn't listen to him anymore. I ran out of my bed and to the apartment door before realizing that I was wearing short shorts and a short tank top, but I didn't really care. I screamed at Will,"Go away! I will not talk with you! I don't care if you're sorry!"I walked up from behind my mom, so that he could see me. He needed to see the anger oozing from my face. He needed to feel the pain that I felt, but he didn't seem to care about my anger or my pain.
Instead he said,"Chloe can you please go change so we can talk?"
This made me even more angry; I put my hands on my hips and said,"And why would I need to change?"
My mom interrupted us,"Um... sweetie your clothes may be a little distracting to some people."
Will found my outfit distracting. Well, that was good; it was time for him to be embarrassed about something. "You're distracted?"
Will didn't say anything for a while until he said,"Well, yes. Just change please. I want to go on a walk with you before I leave. I need to fix how things ended for us. Please Chloe." It was that thing again. Hope.
"Ok. Fine, but I'm only putting on a jacket." I grabbed my grey sweatshirt from the coat closet behind me."I'll be back soon."
I walked out the door and waited for Will to follow me. I heard the door close and felt his hand grab mine. I quickly pulled my hand away and said,"No. You don't get to hold my hand. Not if you're leaving." We continued to walk down the stairs in complete silence.
I wasn't used to this kind of awkwardness, but it seemed like Will was. When we exited the building he said," Look Chloe, can we at least talk?" I didn't respond, so he continued,"Look I love you, but I know that you don't like hearing me say that right now. Can we please just be friends? Maybe play some baseball? I could teach you how to play."When I didn't respond he said,"Please Chloe, just let me make it up to you before I leave."
"Fine."I didn't understand why this boy got to me so much. I allowed him to grab my hand so that he could lead me to a baseball field. As we walked I attempted to ignore the shock that he provided me by just touching my hand.
