Holly slowly crept from her safe spot in the cupboard and slowly peered around the corner, attempting to take in everything. Like the dead person that her roommate had just killed.
After a solid ten minutes of processing what had happened, her beautiful smile lit up her face and she started running towards me. I blindly placed the rifle on the table behind me, took a few steps forwards and opened my arms expecting her to hug me. Once she was 1 1/2 feet in front of me she placed her hands on my shoulders and jumped up, instantly wrapping her legs around my waist. She shifted her hands to perfectly cup my face before she calmly mentioned.
"Thanks for saving my life"
She dipped her head down to my level and started repeatedly kissing me.
I loved it, and I went along with it, until I lost my balance and started to topple backwards. Luckily the table was there to catch me although I could feel an extremely noticeable change in Hollys kissing. Like as though she began to tense up. Although quite understandably so, she was leaning against the same table as a dead criminal-looking person who had tried to kill her 30 minutes before.
I eventually regained my balance and navigated my way to the couch and sat down. Holly now sitting on my lap, still kissing me showing no signs of slowing down.
I placed my hands around her waist and gently nudged her until she was finally sitting upright and no-longer leaning against me.
She had a very inquisitive look upon her face.
"What's wrong?"
I quickly looked back and pointed with my thumb to the very prominent corpse behind me.
"...That"
