-Evies' pov-

I followed the grey semi-Siamese patterned cat. We were currently navigateing through a bracken patch. "In maybe- uh, I guess a day... If you listen, we'll be there!" She said, her tone was surprisingly kind despite my earlier hostility and grumpy air.

Elliot stopped. I didn't notice and almost bumped into the other she. "Hey- what the h-" She turned around shushed me before motioning ahead of herself. 'Adders....' I thought as soon as I saw the shiny scales of the snakes. I shiver crept down my spine.

Adders.... The one thing I hate worse than not being able to do something about a problem I feel I should be involved in. "We can wait, walk around them, or-" I cut her off, "We can kick their shiny scales wanna be lizard butts!" Elliot went as still as tree. My shrieking had woken the adders up.... Crap.

I bared my teeth at the snakes, puffing up my dark fur. The grey cat looked at me with narrowed eyes, "Stop provoking them." I ignored her outta habit. "Evie, I'm serious!" She kept her voice low, but I could hear a not of fear loud and clear. Like a misquote buzzing in my ear!

An adder rose up, getting a good look at us, and I realized, Elliot, who was closer. The snake pulled back, ready to strike. Dumb split second decision time! I pushed the strange, southern accented cat out of the way. She shrieked in surprise, hissing a little when thorns burried themselves into her pelt.

"Suck it up RosePetal!" I hissed at her, dodging the adder. The others had started to decide to get off their lazy a- I mean butts, and join the fight. "My name is RoseFang!" Elliot mewed, batting at an approaching adder. I sighed, knowing that one of us would probably get killed by an adder before we killed most of them, so I did the only thing that seemed sensible to me at the moment. I grabbed the smaller, and surprisingly light cat, and bolted out of that small clearing.

Elliot hissed about a gazillion times when any part of her hit the ground. Not my fault I tried saving your grown cat butt! At last, we made it out of the thicket. I dropped her before laying down and letting my leg rest. Fourth mistake of the day!

If your wondering what my mistakes were, I'll give you a list reader, and I'm not sorry about the 4th wall.
1.) Following a cat that I know nothing about that a bunch of dead guys told me to come with.
2.) Shove the very same cat into some bracken so her dumb pelt wouldn't become snake food!
3.) Attack the snakes.
4.) Run on a messed up leg holding the mysterious cat in my jaw.

By the stars I'm dumb. "Thanks..." Came a quiet voice, waking me from my thoughts. My expression was the same, emotionless. She sighed. "C'mon, let's keep going, once we're back in the territories, I'll be able to heal you quickly. I nodded and followed.

-13 moon timeskip-

I blinked at the lake. "Heya Briarpaw," A cool voice said from behind me. I flicked my ear in response. The cat came and sat beside me. "So, how are you doing?" He asked.

My amber gaze slid over to the tom. "What does it matter to you?" I hissed at him. The leaders nephew chuckled, "Why shouldn't I make sure my fellow Dark Forest traine(help I can't spell xD) is adjusting to her new home?" I just glared at him. "Okay, okay, wellp I'll see you at sun high," He mewed as he stood up, sand crunching under his paws.

"Hey, Cryl where didja go!?" A voice called.

I flicked my ear before heading to camp. "Your brothers back by the lake..." I told the white she-cat with red glasses they were somehow still on her face. Her face lightened up, "Really Briarpaw? Thanks!" She hurried off to get her brother.
