Ok, once in a while in this story and others I'll be using chapters not in first person.  That is because Miguel or the main character is not present.  Therefore, these chapters exist so you know what the antagonist is up to in the meantime.

Ok, Myron OUT!

At an archeological site, several men are digging in the sand in Egypt.  Their sleazy site manager, Rex Billingsley, is sitting in a foldable chair, eating an apple.  He stares at the men through his tinted sunglasses, hoping that they eventually find what he has searched for his entire life; the Ankh of Apep.  If his coordinates, careful planning, and travel budget had proven anything, the Ankh was here.  After all, he had enough money to afford his men to come here, it had to be HERE!

A man in a business suit strolled up behind Rex.  "Mr. Billingsley, are you positive that your...artifact is here?" he asked.

Rex took off his sunglasses and looked at the man in the suit.  "Peter, I've told to to stop doubting me, so God dammit, stop doubting me!" Rex replied, slamming his apple core into the nearby trash can.  "I have used numerous maps, careful research, and based on how my great grandfather made this artifact sound, I have this search team in the palm of my hand.  I will find the Ankh, and it will be mine to control its immense power."

Peter pushed up his glasses.  "Well, sir, I'm not exactly doubting you or your ability to search for the Ankh, but something doesn't seem right.  It seems like a man such as yourself to control such power would be too immense.  You realize the significance of the item, do you not?"

Rex got up from his chair, grabbing his cane in his hand.  He limped over to Peter, until the two were face to face.  Rex stared into Peter's nervous eyes, Peter pushing up his glasses once again.  "Pete, listen here.  Apep is the god of freaking destruction!  I need this Ankh to really bring things to order.  This world is on the brink of collapse without my rule.  If government control continues the way it will, with people like the president destroying this nation, with other world leaders looking away from the destruction that is clearly happening, it needs to all stop.  With one, self appointed leader, we can prevent all of the destruction.  One iron fist can rule them all.  You feel me now, Peter?"

Peter nodded in approval, backing away from Rex slowly.  He went back into the tent, pulling out his laptop and typing up some documents.  Rex sat back down in his chair, putting his sunglasses back on over his eyes.  "C'mon you lazy pricks!  Keep digging!  I know it's here!  Keep freaking digging!"
