The Evanses may have been treating her like their own, which is actually how they've always treated her, but the day was long for Tiffany. The thought that Chris would have to answer the non-baseless rumor, was making her all the more antsy. She detached herself from all types of media and simply locked herself in Chris's room.
She couldn't bear the idea of having to watch him getting all anxious while questions were being thrown at him. Worse comes to worst, it might be a first that the world would see him lose his cool in public. Wanting and not wanting to know what was going on with Chris at the moment was making Tiffany all the more neurotic.
In actual fact, she was, at the moment, punishing herself for giving into her feelings for this one man she now knows she care most for in this world and lifetime. Then again, Lisa's voice of reason would pop in her head every single time, as well. Circumstances might have been premature, but I know in my heart, you were meant for each other.
In Tiffany's Utopia, she and Chris would be living happily ever after. Yet in this all too cruel world, a world where rules matter, whichever way anyone looks at it, they had a fault. The exhaustion from the storm maiming her mind, made Tiffany doze off on her new but temporary bed.

When she shifted to her left-hand side, Tiffany felt a familiar warmth that came with an unmistakable presence. The opening of her eyes was sluggish, her hands drifted through the striking figure of the man beside her.
Once her hazels and right hand rested on his fatigue-stricken face, Chris's lips formed into the most soothing smile. Without opening his eyes, he pulled Tiffany so close, with all the intentions of having their lips meet. The kiss was tender and relaxed, at first. But as both their warm hands wander all over each others' bodies, their longing for one another after a couple of weeks of being apart trampled any other unwanted thoughts and situations.
Chris intensified the kiss. He drew Tiffany's body even closer, tugging her by the butt. He let his tongue roam deep in her mouth, fencing with her own sense of taste. She moaned while she burrowed her fingers on his scalp.
After a while, both simultaneously, with all their remaining self-restraint, pulled away from the inflamed tryst.
His face flushed, his eyes' light dancing. "This is one of the reasons why I'm not willing to let you go." From his tone, Tiffany could sense he was trying to be funny. But from it, she also recognized he meant what he said.
With every rise and fall of her chest, her breathing was staggered. Yet Tiffany managed to eventually speak. "So, I'm not dreaming. I missed you." She rested her face underneath the deep of his neck, her hands moving across the length of Chris's back. "But why are you here?"
"I just want to be sure you won't be fed to the wolves." Chris wrapped his arms across her back.
"Your family is making certain that won't happen."
Chris shifted his blue orbs to her uneasy eyes. His thumbs grazing Tiffany's cheeks. "I know that. But, on impulse, I just have to be here."
"What about your movie engagements?" she inquired, her palms not leaving the strength of his back.
"They can wait. The next leg is in New York so I made a side trip to see you. I'll be back on the road in time for the premiere." When he sighed, Tiffany could perceive he was about to get serious. "So." Chris paused. "Is it Mike?"
She attempted to evade his question. "How did you even get here without the paparazzi noticing?"
He shook his head. "You have a knack for changing the topic. Tiffany simply winked at him and gave him a smack on the lips in the hopes of letting the question slide. Chris tapped the tip of her nose with his pointer, then crinkled his own. "Well, it would seem that our neighbors are friendlier..."
