It was the day of the engagement party. A lot of people came including the press and paparazzi. The night was filled with congratulating the couple and posh chit chats which were most likely bragging about their livelihoods. The intoxicating rich air was somewhat calming all because of the good news.
The officially announced couple were walking around the big hall together, not separating since the the celebration started an hour ago. They came across people praising and telling them how much they suit each other. Jungkook being the flirty one he is, managed to make Jiyeon blush every time someone gave a remark about the two of them.
"Ah... I still can't believe how much you guys have grown. Remember that time when you guys almost drowned each other during PE class when we were seniors in high school?" Park Hyungsik laughed. A classmate of theirs who is the son of the famous food corporation in Seoul. Twirling his wine glass that he held before taking a tiny sip, looking back at the interestingly absurd couple.
Both threw a very big laugh that Jiyeon had to clutch onto her stomach and Jungkook almost running out of breathe. "I still remember it like it was yesterday! Jungkook was too full of himself thinking that he could beat me in swimming. Was pushing me underwater and trying to kill me really necessary?" Jiyeon smacked his head earning a slight groan from the latter. "Yah, I wanted to win and killing you was one of my goals" Jungkook stated provoking his fiancé into beating him. Jiyeon's eyes twitched before she launched at him, trying to strangle him to death.
Jungkook was close to lose his life when Hyunsik almost didn't get a hold of Jiyeon. "But now, I can just kill you with my love" Jungkook quickly saved, giving her finger guns. Jiyeon, instead of feeling flustered, got even more irritated with her eyes twitching much more.
"You know that was really cheesy, right?" She contained a scowl and regained back her posture, patting away the wrinkles of her dress that appeared. Jungkook grew a cheeky smile on his face and cooed at her "You know you love me" he teased "Do I know that? Yes, yes I do" she giggled clinging onto his arm.
"Aigoo, look at the both of you. You guys are making me sick. Stop rubbing it onto my face that I'm still single. I'll see you both around. I can't stand this love sick atmosphere" Hyungsik jokingly complained before going off which only made the couple laugh and walk to entertain more people.
"Congratulations Jungkook and Jiyeon, or should I say Mr and Mrs Jeon" The man laughed and eyed the both of them "You remind me so much of me and my wife when we were still young. Don't they, darling" The man looked at her wife who was smiling beside him, her eyes sparkled, showing how much she remembers their memories. She looked too young to be in her sixty's. Her face had a few wrinkles but nevertheless, youth screamed a lot to show her beauty.
"How so Mr Kim?" Junkook asked, seemingly interested.
"I can feel the strong connection between the two of you. And what's more interesting is that I heard you were very much rivals during your early age" Mr Kim laughed and placed a shoulder around Mrs Kim "We both were enemies with a tiny bit of friendship when were we young. I guess it was a matter of time when we finally realized what we truly felt deep within those silly arguments we had" Mrs Kim giggled at the thought.
Jiyeon smiled and looked at Jungkook who had his infamous bunny smile as he looked at the elderly couple with admiration.
With a few more talking here and there, Jiyeon finally felt the tiredness hit her. But that's when a slow song played. She stood up and went over to Jungkook who was sitting a few feet away from her, devouring his food. "Can I have this dance?" She asked, holding out a hand for him to take. He looked up with puffy cheeks, filled of food that he was yet to chew and swallow. She chuckled as Jungkook held up a hand as a sign to hang on a sec while he tried to gulp down the food and drink water. He wiped his mouth with the napkin before standing and clearing his throat as a blush tainted his cheeks. "I should be the one asking you that" He sheepishly said. Jiyeon, once again let out another chuckle before dragging him to the centre of the hall.
His hand slowly wrapped around her waist while the other one was holding her hand. As the melody played. They danced through the floor with their eyes locked, the doors to their souls. Jiyeon melted in his sweet touch that was warmer than the rays of sun that would hit her face in early beautiful mornings. The sweetness that it gave was more than fresh honey. She was drowned in the soft glazing doe eyes he had, this was love.
He held her on the waist with both of his hands before lifting her up from the ground and setting her back on her feet after a graceful spin in the air. Everyone around them was loving what they saw. Giving them applauses and cheering for the both of them. They both had a genuinely loving smile on their faces as they continued to dance.
It all happened to fast, when suddenly all the lights went off and the music stopped. Everyone started to panic and their murmurs were the only sound that filled the hall when a sequence of slow loud single claps resonated the room. "How lovely" The voice chuckled. It was clearly a woman. A certain bitch that has a plan of sabotage.
"Congratulations Jungkook"
With that said the lights went back on and when everything was finally clear in sight, Jungkook looked around, failing to see Jiyeon.
