The sky was fading to mixtures of blues, purples, pinks and golds, highlighting the clouds in majestic colors. With the crisp air surrounding Y/n she simply continued to walk a casual pace, admiring the pretty sunset.

She was on her way to visit Urokodaki, man she considered to be her grandfather. Y/n has known Urokodaki her entire life, and on this specific day she would always visit with a basket of baked goods. Still unsure weather or not he even liked them she still brought them out of tradition.

The temperature continued to drop as the sun set, You gaze lovingly towards the sky as the stars began to appear. you never really worried about demons, knowing enough to defend yourself and you always made sure to leave so that you got to Urokodaki's just as the sun completely vanished. Today on the other hand, you were early.

"Urokodaki-san!" You yelled, slipping your shoes off. He appeared around the corner, his familiar red tengu mask in place. "y/n, your early" he said, walking over and taking the basket from the you.

You suddenly felt the familiar aura of a demon, but instantly knew it was different from the way it presented itself to you. "Urokadaki-san, do you have a guest?" You ask, following the aura. He followed you quietly, not answering until you saw her. "she's... she's so beautiful" You murmur, the girls Aura engulfing you in a gentile presence. You could tell immediately that this girl was special, the way her presence seemed to reach out in a loving, yet protective hug.

you bend down next to Nezuko, patting her head affectionately as the other girl slept. She didn't react, but something told you that this was to be expected.

You've always seemed to have a sixth sense when it came to others, which wasn't unexpected. you'd gone through a lot, you HAD to adapt to others emotions and auras. It was the way you survived.

A new presence was approaching the house, which shocked you as it got closer. "That must be Tanjiro, Nezuko's brother" Urokodaki said, seeing your puzzled expression. "Tanjiro?" you murmur. As Tanjiro's aura got closer you could tell that he was like Urokadaki-san, his nose sharp. other than that you could feel the similarities between him and Nezuko. the kindness that seemed roll of Tanjiro only growing stronger as he approached, the gentile way his Aura pushed against yours shocking you. You could also sense a deep drive for revenge and the urge to protect. There was also the bond you could feel from him and Nezuko. Beautiful.

"Urokodaki-san im back!" Tanjiro shouted, opening and closing the door of the house. A few seconds later a boy with black hair with burgandy colored tips came into the room, stopping when he saw you. You smile kindly, Tanjiro returning the favor. "I'm Y/n, its a pleasure to meet you" you say sweetly, standing to bow.

Tanjiro blushes and places his hands on your shoulders. "theres no need for that y/n- san" he said, obviously flustered. you chuckle silently, still smiling at him. You notice that he hasn't released your shoulders at the same time he does and a small blush takes form on his face.

He dropped his hands immediately, apologizing profusely. I simply chuckle and wave his worries away. "Its ok Tanjiro-san" you say after he fell silent.

Urokodaki cleared his throat before Tanjiro could speak and drew the both of you attentions to him. "Why don't I begin dinner, y/n why don't you share some of your baked goods with Tanjiro" he suggested, already leaving us in the room. You smiled after Urokodaki warmly replying with a kind "of course!"

Tanjiro looked over at you, puzzled. "Was that what I smelled when I came in?" He asked. You smile but don't reply. Instead you walk out and grab your basket, finding Tanjiro already behind you. Opening the basket carefully, you laid some of the baked treat's out.

"Y-you made all this y/n-san?" He said, his mouth slightly open in shock. You nodded, smiling softly. Looking through the goods you picked on that seemed to say Tanjiro all over it.

"Here, try this" you say, presenting the baked good to him proudly. He smiled before taking it, looking at you happily before taking a bite.

"Mmm y/n-san this is so good!" He praised, causing you to blush slightly. "Its nothing really" you say, truly feeling that he was over exaggerating.

He suddenly grabbed your hands in his, bringing his face close to yours with a stubborn gleam. You realized the he's covered in dirt and sweat, and a small part of you wanted to wipe some of it away.

"Y/n-san there's no need to be humble, this is truly amazing!" He said enthusiastically. You blush more, highly aware of just how close he was to you.

Needing to change the subject you blurted out the first thing that came to mind. "Are you training to be a demon slayer Tanjiro-san?"

He looked a little shocked at you question, but leaned back away from you and released your hands. "Yeah" he said proudly.

You look over at Urokodaki from were he sat and announced, "I want to train to be a demon slayer as well!"

*one year later*

You and Tanjiro had just made it to the final selection, the wisteria trees glowing their faint purple in the light of the setting sun. Admiring the beauty of it, you turn to Tanjiro.

"Tanjiro, do you think we should stay together during the final selection? Or maybe split off?" You ask, hoping deep down that he would want to stay as a group.

Demons were still frightening to you, though you knew you could face them. But you just weren't ready to take them on alone. At least not yet.

"I believe it would be best to stay together since we work well together." He said, but you had the sense that there was more. "And that we both go home to Urokodaki-san" you finished for him, giving him a confident smile. He smiled back with determination and you both pick up your pace, eager to begin.

You arrived at the little clearing, seeing multiple people about. About three stood out to you, the boy with the yellow hair, a girl with a butterfly and a very frustrated looking boy. The blonde one looked absolutely dead inside, his aura one of a coward. But you could sense something deep down. The girl, she seemed quite, reserved. Something seemed off about her, but not it a bad way. The other boy seemed off to you though. Something strange about him, but before you could think to hard on it two people emerged onto the stage.

They began to explain how things worked, what would be happening and when. Soon they stopped talking and told us the trial had begun.

Tanjiro looked at you and nods. Grabbing each others hands you begin to run after the others. It has in fact begun.
