Lauren/You: Escaping Reality

Chapter 3

Your P.O.V.:

You and Lauren tried to make it through the crowd and eventually you were go out of the heated mess outside. You walked her to your vechile and both jumped in. As you pulled out from the drive way it was a quit for a coupled minutes. Throught the silence your mind was racing with trying to come up with a converastion to bring up to talk to her about. You didn't want to seem boring or lame as that is how you have been for the last few months. Breaking the silence Lauren asked.

"Where are we going?" she asked looking at you.

"It's a suprise," you said given her a quick glance with a smile.

Lauren brought up music which made the ride seem a lot faster than it actually was. It seemed like you both had quite a bit in common with liking music. You both liked most of the same bands and singers. After discussing we blasted some music on the way there. I took Lauren to a coffee/grill that I come to all the time. I usually come here because no one else knows about it helps me escape because I am alone to just listen to myself and own thoughts. Also there were local bands and solo artists that would perform every night for a couple hours. You both got out the vechile and made your way inside. There was the coffee part right when you walked in on the left side and across from it was the bar. Right beside the bar was the small stage where all the musicians performed. There were booths and tables to sit and watch the acts.

"Hey Y/N!" said the manager Tom who has now become a friend of yours after all the drunk and lonley nights he has had to help you.

You gave a head nod in reply to say hi.

"First time you haven't come alone," he said looking towards Lauren.

"Must be speacial," he said giving me a wink.

Trying not to say anything you looked towards the ground. I felt Lauren stepping a bit closer to me. Before I could react I was interupted.

"Normal spot?" Tom asked.

"Always" you said giving a sly smile.

As he leaded you towards the booth I had usually always sat alone in until today. It sat directly across from the stage but in the back of all the tables giving the best view.

"So you usually come alone," Lauren asked looking at the ground.

"Yeah I always do."

"How come?"

"It's my place to escape in my thoughts, it's surrounded by things I like"

"And that is?" She asked hesitantly.

"Music, coffee, and a the drinks that take the pain away,"

You then realized what you said when you lookedat Lauren's hurt expression

"I'm sorry,"

"Why is that?" she asked again with the same curiosity she always had among her.

"You know Jauregui you have a lot of questions."' you said giving out a small laugh.

"Sorry."

"Why are you sorry?" giving her the same questioning while laughing again.

The first act then went up onto the stage and started playing. It was some slow mello alternative music.

"Tell me more about you." you said to Lauren.

She then did what you did back at Jaden's party nd started spilling. She told you that her boyfriend Luis has done the same as Ryan did to you. She said ever since then she has been bit rebellious but depressed after everything that has happened. You started laughing. Lauren then gave you a questioning look.

"What?"

"Everything, it all just seems so pointless and like a waste of time if you think about it. We all do what we do and then die and soon be forgotten."

"Some things in life are worth it, it might not seem like it now but I promise you there will be something," she said holding your hands.

She stared into your eyes with a caring nurture as she rubbed her thumbs on the back of your hands. Her beauty was ever lasting everything about her starstruck me. You spotted little freckle beside her right eyebrow.

"That's unique," you said.

"What?"

"The one freckle by your right brow."

She blushed then quickly looked to the ground pulling her hands away. You then grabbed her hands as you were now rubbing your thumbs on the back of her hand looking into her eyes again. The every green sea of madness. But beauty.

"It makes you even more beautiful," you said giving her a smile while looking into her eyes.

You were both stuck in that position when Tom came around with drinks and you both quickly pulled away. For the rest of the night you mostly just talked about any subject that came to mind. Both starting to get to know each other a whole lot more. We spilled things to eachother that we have never told anyone we only kept them in our thoughts. I don't even know the reason to myself spilling myself to a complete stranger I just met today. But again there was something about her. She was different. By the time you guys realized how late it was, as it was 12:30 a.m. You both decided it was time to leave. After having a couple drink niether of you were able to drive so walked. Again talking freely. We were walking through a park filled with leaves on the ground as it was fall.

"Y/N?" Lauren cooed as she clung on to you arm as she was cold.

"Yeah?"

She stopped realizing the grip on your arm to face you.

"Tonight was really great I really enjoyed it, I've never been able to talk to someone like that and it really helped."

"Yeah it was I haven't laughed like that in a while so thanks," you said smiling at her.

You saw her gaze fall to your lips as they quickly flickered back up to meet your eyes. She started moving closer to but soon interupted from the ringing of your phone. You reached into your pocket to see Taylor had called you over 30 times but didn't seem to realize before.

"Hello?" you said answering the phone.

"Y/N!! YOUR ALIVE!" you had to hold the phone away from your ear as she was yelling so loud.

"Yeah I'm pretty sure I am."

"That's not funny I have called you over a million times," she stated starting to get angry.

"Sorry I left becau-" you started.

"Y/N, you made a promise and broke it,"

"I technically didn't," you said while looking at Lauren.

"And how's that may I ask," Taylor sid sounding annoyed.

"Well I socialized and actually met someone new that's why I left," you said while looking at Lauren and smiling.

She returned the smile and gave you a wink.

"Y/N?"

"Yeah, sorry."

"With who?"

"I am on my way home don't worry I will explain to you then."

You then hung up the phone and faced your attention towards Lauren.

"We should probably head home," you said to Lauren.

"Yeah same the girls are probably freaking out," she said turning and starting to walk away.

"Hey Lauren wait up I'll walk you home"

"You don't have to"

"It's not an option," you said giving her a quick wink.
