"You're leaving?" I say, my voice barely making a sound.
"I haven't decided." His voice sounds unsure.
My eyes fill with tears as I cross my arms as I do when I am too lost in thought.
"I--I'm, I'm happy for you" I smile as tears run down my face. "You should go."
"Olivia, you just need to give me time to think about this." He says sympathetically.
"No! Don't think." I say quickly.
"Liv--"
I cut him off "Please. I don't want to be the reason you have to ponder your dreams" I laugh.
"Olivia stop this!" He yells.
He never yells.
"I'm sorry" I start sobbing into my hands.
"Liv, this isn't hard for just you." He says, voice now calm.
He steps closer and wraps his arms around my sobbing body. I reach my arms up and around his neck.
"Its ok Liv. Even if I do go, it wouldn't be for a while."
We pull back and as I wipe tears from my face I say "I'm sorry. I really don't want to influence your decision."
"You've influenced my decisions since the day I met you" He smiles
I smile back. "Im sorry I overreacted"
"You didn't overreact, its just alot to take on at once."
I smile--I mean really smile--Teeth showing, cheeks high.
He looks me in the eyes, smiling back.
His arms still grasp my waist and my hands on the tip of his back bone.
We fit together perfectly.
Fit like a puzzle.
A puzzle.
