"mommy, when you wish upon a star, what happens?"
"something special."x x x
it's time for the newest round of high schoolers to try and enroll in japans famous school, yuuei. most children had been studying for the dreaded or long awaited day, the entrance exams. you were one of those kids, studying and training in hopes you could be one of the best. your parents were definitely proud, seeing their kid strive for the best.
the long awaited day had come, and you couldn't have been more pumped. you had studied and trained for this, you got this. "i'm proud of you hun, you're gonna do great things." my mother was definitely the more supportive one, and my dad let her do the talking while giving me a nod of encouragement. i took off for my potential new high school, and looked up at the day sky. no stars were out, obviously, but i pretended it was a gorgeous night sky with shooting stars to wish on. it gave me the last bit of motivation to get rid of any jitters while before i knew it i was at the building.
i saw many other kids on their way, all nervous and ready to show what they were made of in hopes of making it big. i wonder if i looked like to them, or if they even noticed me. i took a final breath as i walked where introductions were made, and our first test was being held.

with the writing portion out of the way, it was time for the physical test. i scanned around and saw lots of kids firing themselves up, some grinning like maniacs and others looking as if they were about to jump off a plane.
the test started, and i ran to the side hoping to avoid the mob of kids running in one big cluster. whatever i did worked, because i was quickly faced with multiple robots. i kept track of how many points each of them were worth, as i used my telekinesis quirk to bend them into odd shapes. i got cocky after a few, and decided to play around with it. i quickly bent a few, before my attention was taken by a green haired boy destroying a robot and saving a girl. i made a mental note to congratulate him on that. i kept bending whatever bots came my way, avoiding the zero-pointers and other people. by the time it was finished, i felt a pounding headache from quirk overuse.

i thanked the nice lady who came and checked up on everyone, and relieving me of my headache. with this renewed energy, i went to congratulate some people on their hard work. i went to the greenette i saw earlier, who saved the girl. i tapped on his shoulder, hoping to get his attention. "hey! i saw you during the exam and wanted to say your save for that girl was really cool!" i smiled at him, scratching my neck cheekily. "o-oh! thank you! i saw you using your quirk and i thought it was cool too!" he immediately flushed and stuttered out a response. i waved him off as i went home, pumped to tell my parents how it went.
as soon as i got home i was immediately sat down and bombarded with questions on the test, how i think i did, if i was okay and offered aspirin. i had to slow them all down enough for me to tell my story and how the green haired boy i saw saved the brown haired girl. it hit me i didn't know their names, but if we all got in hopefully i could befriend them and learn. we could even be put in the same class. getting back to my story, i told them how i hopefully got plenty of points for all the bots i had taken out. they were proud, and offered to take me out to my favorite restaurant celebrate my testing.
i had fun, but my mind was slightly elsewhere during dinner. there was another boy, a blond boy who seemed pretty violent, but balanced it out with a powerful quirk. i wonder who he was. my mother was babbling on about how her agency was so demanding, for my father to remind her "you wanted to be a pro hero, (m/n)." sometimes i wonder how they managed to get together. my mother was loud and talkative, while my father was reserved and always worrying about her. "(y/n)? you're quiet, are you okay?" i guess my mom realized nobody was listening to her, so she turned to me for attention. "huh? yeah mom, i'm okay." i quickly reassured her and took a big bite of my food to prove it. my dad gave me a 'look' probably a mixture of questioning and boredom. i couldn't blame him, my mother was probably running him into an early grave. poor guy.
when we finally got home i went to shower and made up an excuse about needing sleep and left before i had anymore questions thrown at me from my mother about today. i sat on the toilet drying my hair, thinking about the events of today. i had hopefully done good enough for yuuei to recognize me and accept me, maybe allowing me to attend the school. i climbed into bed, hopefully awaiting a sleep that never came. it was fine though, i was still pumped the next day.
