It's still dark...
Wait, never mind.
Elise woke up with a gasp and was immediately met with the sound of people talking. Clearly, she wasn't in her room anymore, but in an alleyway. A really scary alleyway... She tried to stand up, only to fall down again due to her weak legs. "Where am I...?" She looked around her, quickly finding the book that seemingly transported her here.
She quickly discovered that it had shrunk.
The book seemed small enough to easily fit in the pocket of her jeans, which wasn't very big to begin with since she could barely fit half of her hand in it. Clothing companies just loved to let girls suffer. She turned to her right to see a man quickly walking towards her. She panicked and slipped the book in her pocket, grateful that it fit.
"Miss, are you okay? I just saw you fall!" The man asked, holding out his hand. Elise took it, letting the man help her up. "Um, yeah. I'm fine!" She said, brushing the dirt off of her jeans. The man watched her, scaring Elise a bit.
"Well, I have to go now! Thank you for helping me!" She waved at the man and tried to walk away, only to have him grab her arm. Hard.
Oh hell no.
She quickly turned to look at the man, her eyes wide in fear. "A girl as pretty as you can't be walking around a place like this! There are creeps around!" Elise tried desperately to pull her arm away for him, but he was too strong. "Here, I'll take you somewhere safe where no one would hurt you that much! I-I mean, at all."
Elise started hearing something. It seemed to be the sound of a carriage going down the street. People started screaming, but she could mainly hear the screams of girls, calling for a Prince. She struggled more, wanting to leave so she could find someone who would help her. She started to feel an energy going through her body, urging her to do more.
Get him away. Get away, get away, get away.
The sound of the carriage got louder as Elise planted her feet on the ground, getting ready to push the man out of the alleyway with all of her might. "No, let go! Get away from me!" She screamed, pushing him away. Something shot out her hands, touching the man and making him fly out of the alleyway and into the street. Everything quieted down as the man convulsed on the ground.
Elise noticed that everyone had started whispering, wondering why a man had just been shot out of an alleyway. The man stopped moving and sat up, his hand shaking due to the remaining shocks. "T-That girl," he said, pointing at her. "She tried to kill me! Please, arrest her!"
Two people in fancy uniforms, a male and a female, rushed into the alleyway and grabbed her by her arms, taking her away. "Hey, I didn't do anything! He tried to kidnap me!" She said, struggling. Everyone only started to whisper more.
"What kind of magic was that?"
"She's dressed weird... She must be from somewhere different..."
"I thought that only members of higher status and the army could use magic as powerful as that? She's clearly not a soldier, nor is she a member of the royal family..."
The people in the fancy uniforms stopped in front of the carriage, and Elise watched as two people stepped out. A man with black hair and grey eyes, and a boy with red hair and green eyes who seemed to be around her age. He was also barely taller than her. A few people started screaming their names, trying to get their attention.
