Phil's POV

I woke up to the sound of my sisters voice.

I looked at my clock, 4 in the morning.

"Phil?" She called again from behind my door.

"What?" I asked annoyed.

She cracked open the door letting in a sliver of light from the hallway.

"I had a bad dream. Can I sleep with you?" She asked dragging her favourite blanket in behind her.

I sighed and scooted to the side of my bed.

"Get in." I said.

"Thank you bubby."

She was 5, how could I say no?

When I woke up again to my alarm clock she wasn't there, she always was an early riser.

I unplugged my alarm clock and looked at my phone.

27 texts, 2 voicemails.

"What?" I rubbed my eyes and opened the texting app.

PeeJ

"Why was he texting me so early?" I asked myself.

"WE NEED TO TALK ASAP!"

"PHIL WAKE YOURSELF UP THIS IS IMPORTANT!"

"PHILIP MICHEL LESTER YOU ANSWER ME RIGHT NOW!"

I scrolled through the rest, they all basically said the same thing.

I opened the voice mails.

"Phil, this is urgent, you need to answer me now!"

Next.

"PHIL!!!! Really!!! Now!!"

I deleted the voicemails and switched back to the messaging app.

"What is it?" I texted him.

"Why didn't you reply!?" He texted back almost immediately.

"Oh I don't know, I was asleep?" I sent back.

"Oh. Yeah."

"So what was so urgent that you had to text me at 1 in the morning?"

"Oh yeah, so Delilah and I are now official!!"

"You two have been a thing for a while, you just never got the balls to officially ask her."

"You know why." He sent back immediately.

"True, you know once she finds out it will break her heart."

"Yeah. I know... :("

Sighed and got out of bed, grabbing random clothes out of my drawers.

I ended up putting on a Legend Of Zelda tee shirt and black skinny jeans.

I put on some mismatched socks and brushed out my hair.

"Philip!" My mother called from the bottom of the stairs.

"Yeah?!" I yelled back.

"Phil!" She yelled again.

"WHAT?!" I yelled back even louder.

"PHIL!!"

I sighed loudly and opened my door.

She was RIGHT THERE how did she NOT hear me!

"Oh good, I thought you were going deaf."

"Other way around." I mumbled under my breath.

"What was that?"

Oh yeah sure, now she hears me.

"Nothing."

"Mmhm, anyway, you will need to walk your sister to school, I got called in early."

"Sure thing." I said spinning on my heel.

I went back into my room and closed the door.

I checked my phone whilst sliding on my shoes.

Thank god Peej stopped spamming me. I hate it when people do that, it's like they don't understand that I might be busy.

I went over to my little sisters closed door and knocked lightly before letting myself in.

"Hey, you ready?" I asked.

She was still asleep.

"God Damn it." I mumbled we had to be out that door in 5 minuets and she still had to get dressed, eat, brush her hair, and teeth.

I walked over to her and picked her up forcing her to sit up, I rummaged through her drawer until I found a tee shirt with a monster truck on it a her favourite tutu and leggings.

"Put it on." I said throwing it at her.

She nodded tiredly, and I ran out the door making her toast.

Why didn't mom just wake her up for me?! She came out of her room just as I finished putting jelly on the toast.

I shoved the hard bread into her hand and and moved the caravan to the bathroom. I worked at brushing her hair while she ate. I finally got the red curly mass to lay flat, it still didn't look the best so I just put it up in a pony tail.

This was going to be a long day.

I was already running late I needed to get her to do the one thing she hated doing.

Wear shoes.

"JUST PUT YOUR DANM SHOES ON!" I yelled after a while.

"Why do I need them?!" She retorted.

"Because other people have gross feet and you need to protect yours from the gross ones with shoes." I said.

That is usually how we got her to put on foot wear, but today it just was not working.

"No. I don't like them."

"I don't care, look, cara, you have to wear shoes or they won't let you in school."

"Can I just wear socks and say there shoes?"

For her age, she was smart.

"No, but you can wear your ballerina shoes." I said caving into the need to get her to put on foot wear.

"YES!!" She yelled running into her room to go get them.

She came back out with them securely on her feet. Thank god.

"Lets go." I said opening the door for her.

Cara jumped I to the back seat of my car and we were off.
