'I knew sports day was gonna come, but seriously, that one month passed too quickly for my own liking...' The girl thought, scratching the back of her head, while her face was laced with confusion and boredom.

((Yikes! Sorry, another chapter with sports! The reader and the main group aren't really friends yet, so that's why they only interact when there's a class activity!))

''Listen, guys! Today is all about one thing! Being number one!'' Her team cheered in excitement and joy, completely ignoring the fact that losing is an option. Her classmates are strange, yes, but still. They should be at least a bit cautious about this.

She looked at the other team, and couldn't help but feel nervous. She was calculating percentages in her brain to see what were the chances of them losing, but she also thought about them yelling at her if she got last place.

'I'll make sure everything in my power that doesn't happen, [L/N].'

''The first event is the boys' 100-meter dash.'' She heard the announcement ring. It was Saiki's turn, unfortunately for him. Running was never really his thing, well, sports was never his thing as well.

''On your marks...''

'Can't really say anything, but good luck, Saiki!' She thought, trying to blend in with all the cheering. She doesn't really have a choice in this situation.

''Set...''

'Roger that.'

''Go!''

And there they ran off. It started off really close in the start, but he started slowing down a bit, like she thought. But his face held no emotion, while the opponents looked like they've been running for 2 hours straight. That was the strange part.

Saiki got third place in the end, and he barely even looked tired. The opponents, though, passed out. She caught his gaze on him, and gave him a thumbs-up, hoping that it would make him feel better. He didn't need it, but felt a bit of pride enter him when she acknowledged him.

'Ah, shoot. That was awkward. Why the hell did I do a thumbs-up?! That's so lame!' She mentally hit herself in the face after that awkward interaction, while he didn't even think it was awkward at all.

Her thoughts got cut off by her classmates cheering for him. She was a little confused on why they were cheering for him more than usual, they were a little too overjoyed, since he got just third place.

''You should join the track field, Saiki! You were racing with athletes just now! Some of them are very fast, you were incredible!'' She overheard a classmate say, before her jaw dropped.

'A-Athletes?! Never mind third place, I would've gotten last place!' She sighed, face-palming. She didn't expect him to have so much stamina, she wasn't the one to judge, but he didn't look that athletic!

'Why is everyone in this class seem so special?' The pinkette got a little annoyed by her opinion on him. He wanted to be anything but special. Especially with her opinion, which matters to him the most out of anyone there.

Next up was that blue-haired boy with red eyes. It's also the same boy with that dramatic move name that one time in dodge-ball. That felt like it has been many days ago, but it really wasn't. Just a few weeks ago.

He seemed confident.

That confidence vanished since he got fifth place.

Her team had 250 points, leaving them in last place. However, she noticed a guy coming up to the team. ''I'm the next one participating.'' He said, puzzling literally everyone. Who the hell even is this guy? She hasn't even seen him in class.

The guy was happy probably because he was teamed up with Teruhashi. He was probably even more happier when she grabbed his hand.

''Let's win no matter what!'' She encouraged him, surprisingly nice. Wow, she really is perfect inside and outside, huh? 'I feel like every time I see her, my self-consciousness goes up even higher.'

They won first place, but the guy unfairly carried Teruhashi all the way to the finish line. It was quite unfair, but she didn't say anything, as they at least got first place. Good for them.

Next it was her turn with the three-legged race. She was paired up with a student she hadn't quite seen, but didn't think much of it. Probably some guy in the background that was unimportant to her life.

''Not even a 'hello' or 'thank you' to me?'' He suddenly said, causing her to look at him like a deer in the headlines. Saiki stared daggers at that classmate, clearly not happy with the tone of his voice.

''I- I, uh.. Hello?'' She stuttered, the male rolling his eyes.

''Because of this, I don't feel like doing the race anymore. But because Teruhashi is watching me, and Hairo has his hopes on me, I'll do it.'' He complained further, making him think that she gave a damn about what he said.

In the end, she and him got fourth place. Saiki continued glaring at him, while she was trying to get as far away from him as possible. That was too awkward for her, who even acts like that?! It's so unrealistic!

'That was certainly...something.'

Up next was the scavenger hunt, and Nendou was up. He ran over to the papers with a bizarre sprint, and grabbed the paper with joy, and started cheering out of nowhere. He was happy, even though he didn't even complete the challenge.

'Does he not know what a scavenger hunt is?' She thought, confused, as of why he was cheering for himself. Maybe he has never did a scavenger hunt before, or he was never invited to one. He doesn't look like the type of have friends.

'Wait, he is friends with that pinkette. Has he never invited him to one?'

Saiki let out an exasperated sigh, while Nendou stopped laughing, and looked at the paper, before looking around. He spotted her, well, her team, and starts sprinting towards her.

No, it sounded simple, but the way he was running towards her honestly made her feel like as if she was in a horror movie. It was like he was a killer running towards the victim, except the budget was two dollars.

''Hey, let me borrow that.'' Thankfully, he was actually sprinting towards Hairo. At least he wasn't planning to headbutt her or something.

''You mean this?!'' Hairo held up a racket, clearly thinking it was was what he wanted.

''No, that's not it.'' He passed through Hairo, making her a little puzzled. It was clearly the racket, why didn't he just grab it? Did he see a butterfly and go for that?

''This one.'' He grabbed one of the pinkette's hair clips. She raised a brow. He didn't even ask? That could be something like a precious family heirloom, well, hairloom, he can't just grab it like that!

''Oof.''

And that was when everything plummeted down. Literally.
