Luna trails her hand over the spines of the books on the shelf. The textures really stuck out to her as she runs her fingers over them, moving along the bookshelf in their inn room. "You're fine to take it off." Geralt says, closing the door to the room. Reaching up, she pulls off the bandana and blinks rapidly at the glow of the candlelight in the room. With no hesitation, her bright eyes glide across the books.

Geralt stands off to the side, removing his weapons as Luna had already done. In her other hand is a bottle, which she takes a swig from while pulling at a book. They were all history and myth books, on monsters and stories about them. The ones that a father would read to scare his kids. She finds one that has her slowly lowering the bottle, placing it on the table. Her right-hand shakes a bit as she pulls a book from the shelf.

The scar under her right eye stings a bit as she looks down at the book. Geralt watches her quietly, observing how she runs a hand over the cover before flipping it open. Her right eye is screwed shut, almost in pain. She suddenly chucks the book at the wall, watching it fall and fold a couple of pages. Luna turns back to the shelf like nothing happened.

With quick steps, Geralt walks over and picks up the book, looking it over. The book was red, detain and writing on it is a golden colour. "History of Dragons" read the cover, making him frown in confusion. "Care to explain why you threw the book like it just insulted you?" He questions, walking the book back to the shelf and putting it back.

Luna doesn't say anything, just glancing at him. "You wouldn't understand Witcher." She says after a moment, keeping her eyes on the assortment of books. After another moment, she sighs. "My brother always had this fascination with the monsters in the myths, he was so sure he was going to travel the continent and see them all, dragons were his favorite." Once more, Geralt was beyond curious about the woman, the way that she spoke about her brother with such care was a side of her that he didn't think the Phantom would have at all.

Geralt sits down on the chair by the fireplace, glancing at Jaskier, who already fell asleep on the bed. "Your brother and Jaskier have that in common, that wonder." He says and Luna nods, looking at the bard.

Luna sits down in the other chair, a different book in her hands. She huffs, opening the book. Geralt doesn't miss the slight twitch that comes to the corner of her lip at the mention of her brother. "He's good like that, good people." Her voice shakes for a moment before she takes a deep breath. "You'd like him." She continues before looking down at the book.

Geralt hums, leaning back in the chair. "You must be close." Luna nods, white eyes darting up to Geralt's golden ones. "What happened?" He tries to get something - anything - out of her but she turns back to the book, falling silent.

"Life I guess. He's him and I'm me." Is all she says, a look of concentration taking over her soon after. At some point, in the silence, Geralt fell asleep in the chair. When he woke up Luna was in the same seat, the same position, reading as she had been the night prior. Jaskier had turned a few times in his sleep, leaving an arm hanging over the side of the bed and a leg out from under the sheet.

The sun was up, lighting up the room as it comes through the window. Luna shifts a bit, turning the page in the thick book that she'd chosen to read. "How'd you sleep?" She spares a glance up at him before nodding her head to the table. "A man came by, spoke about a monster in the kingdom he serves." Geralt straightens up, picking up the coin pouch. "It's only half. Fair is fair, half before the job, half after." She closes the book and sets it down, standing up. "You never know what could happen." With that, she walks by the bed and crouches down. "Come on little bard, there's work to be done." She shakes him by the shoulder.

Jaskier shoots up on the bed, looking around as Luna walks away. "I had the strangest dream." He rubs his head as Geralt shakes his head with a huff.

"Come on Jaskier."
