My Biggest Dream. By: Gianna S
My name is Gianna Stokes. I am turning fifteen years old and ever since I was little I've always been in love with airplanes and fighter jets. I don't know why but the way they're built, their designs and use have always been interesting and intriguing to me. One of my biggest goals is to join the United States Air Force and try making the world a better place from the skies above. My favorite movie is the Tuskegee airmen along with Hannibal Lee as my favorite pilot. His dedication and braveness is the reason why I want to be a pilot. I look up to him more than anything and ultimately I want to be like him when I'm older.
In the movie, Tuskegee Airmen, Hannibal Lee has shown nothing but dedication and fearlessness trying to find equal ground for white men and men of color. I may not be a man but I want to be like him when I grow up to have the same amount of strength and courage it would take to become a United states air force pilot. The movie was based on the Tuskegee airmen within historical ground of the struggles they had went through, as drug subjects and victims of cruel and dishonorable courses, paths and tests they had to take only to be failed by the system over and over again.
I've always been amazed of how the times have changed from years ago to now, where colored men and women get to prove their greatness even more now despite all the stereotype's and laws some countries may have and yet they still do it either way, not to break the laws but to create equal power and ground within daily thing's whether or not it's to easily go out without being shamed and looked at the wrong way for being a Cadet in the Air Force. I think it's amazing how people can change the laws and rules within just a few words and a big heart. I always have looked up to influencers whether its singers like Eminem or world icons like Martin Luther King. History has always been my passion so even if I don't become an Air Force Pilot I have many back up plans including, becoming a plane engineer, Pilot outfit designs or even just stock help.
Winning this contest honestly doesn't mean anything really. I just want my story and passion to encourage others to keep pursuing their dreams despite how many people say it won't happen or judge you. Because with or without help I want and hope to be the best pilot in the world, now I could just be dreaming but I have full faith in myself to pursue this dream so winning this contest and being featured would be great but to encourage other's Is my biggest goal with this short story or essay, whatever you want to call it.
I also have other dream's like becoming a great writer and helping endangered animals. now I know it sounds cliché but it's true, it just hits different if you get me. I have written articles on endangered species with my two great best friend's Jacob and Becca. They have been nothing but supportive with this and we do hope to get animals somehow, whether it's giving homeless animals a home or saving an entire species. We shoot for the stars despite how far they are in reality. They are my motivation to go after dreams and am i thankful to have such amazing people in my life.
