Junior's POV
I brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. The last couple days had been exhausting. Between the flight home, Tani, and the case, I was ready to get a full night of sleep.
Suddenly, I shot up in my bed. I glanced at the clock. 2:26. I'd been having one of those dreams where it feels like dejavú, like you're gonna see it in real life soon. To be honest, I'm not sure I'm ready to see this one in real life. No one is and no one would be.
In the dream
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was a bit before midnight, but we were always on call.
I answered it.
"Hello?" I greeted the person on the other side of the line.
"Junes, I need you," Tani said quickly. She sounded upset, like she was crying.
"Babe, what's wrong? I'm on my way, but do you wanna stay on the line?" I asked her softly.
"Uh, I-I think I'm okay. I just need someone here. I'll see you in a few minutes," she nearly whispered, her voice shaky.
"Okay. You call me if you need to before I get there. I'll see you in a few minutes," I replied, hanging up the phone.
I got up and got dressed in a t-shirt, hoodie, and some sweat pants. It was kinda cold considering we live on a tropical island.
As I got in my car and started driving, I thought to myself. Tani is one of the strongest women I know. I've never heard her get shaky like that except when I was kidnapped. It scared me, to say the least.
I pulled into her driveway and parked, quickly hopping out and knocking on the door.
"Junes," she said quietly when she opened the door. "Hey, you alright?" I asked her. She simply shook her head.
I took her hand and led her to the couch. We sat down and were just with each other for a bit.
"Do you wanna talk, babe?" I asked her quietly. She sat up off of my chest and nodded.
"Um, well, I was late this month and everything, but I wasn't sure if it was because of work and stress and everything with Adam. I let myself go for a few weeks and just blocked it out of my mind. Today, I got caught up in my thoughts and bought something just to make sure I was only late because of work or something. Junes, I'm pregnant," she said nervously. I leaned over and hugged her.
"It's okay. Whatever you wanna do, it's okay," I reassured her. She just needs security and reassurance right now.
She nodded against my shoulder.
"You're not mad or anything?" She asked me.
"No, never. It's probably more my fault than anything that this happened. I can't be mad at you for that," I said, gently rubbing her back.
She let out a shaky breath before sitting back up.
"I don't know what to do. I don't want to force you into something you're not ready for. I don't want to make you take responsibility or be a part of this if it's not what you want. Personally, I want to keep it. I don't know how I'd be, mentally, if I didn't. I can just completely leave your life if you want me to, it's okay. I'm leaving that up to you," she said, slightly more confidently than she sounded before.
"I wouldn't think of leaving you like this. I know that, as long as you're okay with it, I want to be here for all of it. And even if we don't work out, I'm still gonna want to at least be in their life a little bit," I explained to her. It was easy to talk to her, and we were dealing with it together.
"Okay. I'm cool with that. But we have to tell the team and I'm not sure how to do that. I mean, for the safety of the baby, we have to let them know ASAP. I'm gonna call my doctor tomorrow morning and make an appointment with her to get this sorted out, so maybe we could wait until after that?" She explained. I nodded along.
"As long as I get to go to the appointment?" I asked hopefully. She smiled. "Of course," she almost giggled. I just hugged her. It wasn't expected, and it was certainly not something we were ready for, but at least she's smiling again and we've got it a little bit figured out for now.

Tani and I walked into work the next day, trying to figure out if telling at least telling Steve would be a good idea.
Before we could, we were called to a crime scene.
Things moved really quickly. Tani and I were searching the house for any evidence of forced entry when I heard her scream.
When I turned around, she was gone.
I ran to find Steve and I told him what happened after I figured out she was too deep in the woods for me to be able to see her.
We all returned to the office and started looking for Tani. No one knew the most extreme of the circumstances except me.
An hour of hard work later, my phone rang.

Then suddenly I woke up to my phone actually ringing. Luckily, it was just a spam call.
When I woke up the next morning, I called Tani and said I needed to ask her about something.
"Is everything okay?" She asked worriedly over the phone.
"Yeah, yeah, I just had some stuff I wanted to talk to you about," I tried to sound happy. I could almost hear her nervousness over the line.
"Trust me, babe, it's gonna be fine," I said, trying to convince her it was all gonna be alright.

I got to work and met Tani by her car.
"So, you gonna tell me what's going on?" She asked curiously.
"So, about that day when I got home from the mission...are you on the pill or anything," I asked, praying she'd say yes.
"Umm...no, why?" She asked.
Suddenly, my world stopped moving.
